Possibly our forth visit to this very popular cafe... We were very late in the day and, probably due to these unprecedented times the establishment was about to close at what felt like an unusually early time in the afternoon.
Non the less, we ordered...coffee and cakes and waited outside. The coffee this time round though was really dreadful.. Had the place been open even as we took our first sip I would have returned as there was the most awful taste that could not simply have been the blend or roast.... I suspect that perhaps the machine had already been cleaned down for the day and I could taste chemicals... It really was that bad....
I have to balance this with the thought that this had never happened before and, being one to gauge how good a place is by the number of clients it attract, this experience must hopefully and surely have been a one off.
Thus, our initial comments of "never again" will probably not hold true in the long term.More
