My daughter and I had a lovely dinner at Michaels Brasserie, we didn't want a pub meal and both fancied roast. It was the only restaurant we could find in York that served roast on a Friday! We had ciabatta bread to start, one serve was plenty for two, then we both had roast lamb. We were not dissapointed! It... More

Called for lunch after a morning of shopping. We both had the beef baguette. Full of flavour and a nice pint to go with it as well

Visited several times over the past few years. Service is always excellent and the location is fabulous. Great place to people watch whilst eating. We always have at least one breakfast during our visits to York at Michael's brasserie as the price is reasonable, but noticed on this visit that the portion size is quite a bit smaller than we've... We had been on the road most of the day and needed some food. Michael's menu looked inviting so we tried it. This is a small restaurant that is also a hotel. Sadly while we were enjoying our delicious meal ( could really recommend the coronation chicken salad) we had to listen to the discussions with possible guests about the... More

The food is traditional, well cooked, plenty of it! Their veggie offerings are a little space, only three on the menu, one on the daily board, but you can have something off the starter menu with chips and side salad.

Went here for lunch Sunday afternoon, nice and quiet inside with a good choice of food at good prices. We had a steak sandwich and a tuna & mozzarella melt sandwich and both were delicious. Came with a lovely little salad and we added chips on the side which were also nice. Portions were good too, we both struggled to... More

Small friendly privately owned restaurant with an excellent range of choice. Food was excellent and plentiful. We would certainly recommend it. They also have accommodation. Service was good too.

My son and his girlfriend took me here for Mothers Day lunch. It feels like a place from a bygone era - very genteel. The service was very good and the food very tasty... However, the roast potatoes were not the best as they were obviously out of a packet and not 'home cooked'. Would visit again!

We go here every time we visit York, the food tonight was exceptional my steak pudding was extremely tasty and my wife's sea bass was excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful it was a shame to see it so quiet so take a tip book and visit and you won't be disappointed
