Lovely little spot this. It did take a while to get what I ordered but I really didn't mind as it is in such an unusual setting. I ordered a toasty to take out and I was surprised at how nice it was. Great value for money and staff were very friendly.

This Mum's favourite coffee shop! Whenever she visits, a coffee and a cake from this place is always the first thing on her to do list - and it's easy to see why! Going to Perky Peacock is like stepping through the wardrobe and into Narnia: Set in a turret of the river bridge, it really does feel like you've... More

Cute little cafe with super friendly service and delicious coffee. There isn't that much space but it's still very charming and worth a visit.

Had a fantastic lunch here at this quirky cafe whilst holidaying in York. The cafe is part of an old tower right on the river and we had a delicious sandwich and excellent coffee. Well worth a visit if you're looking for a quick bite and/or drink.

We stopped by on Sunday morning since all the other breakfast places in York were overcrowded. The perky peacock has the advantage (disadvantage?) to be a hidden place below a bridge so you will not find it unless you know it. The interior is comfy and the service very attentive. Food wise: choices of tasty toasties (the bread seems home... More

It closes at 5pm so sure to arrive before that to enjoy this cozy coffee. Good location to rest during the wall walk.

It's easy to miss and that's probably just as well because it's tiny and can only seat less than 20 people inside. Does really nice coffee and a range of toasties, sandwiches and cakes.
