This pub has gone down hill over the last couple of years and now they have really taken the biscuit. They are refusing to serve Northampton Town FC fans and along with other football fans as this is a Rugby pub!! I support all my local teams but mainly football. Now if we wear the wrong colour shirt we are... More

We met up with friends 7 of us altogether to listen to our neighbour play with his rock/ blues band. Some had food which looked very well presented and they all said very tasty and didn't offer to share so must have been good. Good selection of beers and wine. Very lively enjoyable time. The staff were friendly but unfortunately... More

Wide selection of real ales,CAMRA membership recognised. Food quite pricey but good quality. Friendly staff and plenty of live music. Covered outside area, great for summer evenings especially when large group or band playing.

We love the Wig and Pen but what has happened to you. Sunday between 2 - 30 and 4-45 pm four members of staff and chefs were more interested in eating crisps, drinking coke and playing on their phones. Customers were left t to clear their own tables. A table near us had a cup etc left on it for... More

First can l say that this is the first time l have had to write a negative review about the food at The Wig and Pen. We went here on sunday for our lunch as we know that the food is excellent. However, lm afraid this was not the case this Sunday. I and my husband decided to have the... More

Come here often and seems to me they don't check or monitor the men's toilet at all. When you pay nearly £5 for a pint (probably the most expensive pub in town) you expect not to use toilet paper sat rolled up on the floor and actually have some soap to wash your hands.... Poor for such a busy well... More

This used to be a really good place to get a good pint of real ale. They do food which is OK..but the last time we were in there we were trying to find a seat to relax but were told that the seating was for people who were eating. It also attracts the lager drinkers so obviously the younger... More

Thank-you peter h for your review. Yes we are a town centre pub so do get very busy, however we do not save seating for people regardless of weather eating or drinking and seating is available for everyone inside and out. I presume it was a busy time you called in and that all the seating was taken up with... More

We recently visited for a quick pub lunch. Always a good selection of beers to choose from. We shared a sandwich with chips and onion rings, and was ideal to share between two people. Good traditional pub food, and good pub atmosphere. Good pub, friendly staff. Worth a visit.

A traditional pub steeped in history that offers a unique food and dining experience in the heart of a bustling town centre. With 13 rotating guest ales and ciders, 100 plus whisky's and rare spirits, bottled global beers, draught lagers & Belgian beers we have something different to appeal to your palate. Our chefs produce regularly changing menus tailored to showcase the finest seasonal produce. All our recipes are produced on site using ingredients sourced from numerous local suppliers. As a proud supporter of the Northampton Saints we regularly show all Rugby games throughout the season on our many screens. The Wig and Pen is also proud to offer a diverse range of live music every week of the year. CAMRA (campaign for real ale) accredited & we were voted Northamptonshire's pub of the season by CAMRA for Spring 2012 because of our excellent selection of quality local and national real ales.
