Fabulous meal! Great wine selection! Always a favourite with us - unpretentious, authentic French food from one of our favourite areas in France. 👍

Bland, tasteless food!! French food is allegedly a gastronomic experience and Petit Paris and le Bistrot Pierre try hard to prove this. French Living falls way short. If you want good food this is not the place to go. Avoid at all costsMore

I am sorry you felt the need to write this, but I am also extremely grateful to you for highlighting the widespread misconception of what French food is all about. Have you watched the Hairy Bikers Tour of the Mediterranean on the TV at the...More

Have been going to French Living for nearly as long as it has been open, and have never had other than a really nice experience. This visit was with a couple of friends, but over the years we have gone with a group of 14,...More

Great food from great people. Tartiflette for me and salmon in lobster bisque sauce for her with a bottle of Cahors to share. Well worth a visit.

Whenever I have a French meal I wonder why I bother eating anything else. French Living is a classic unpretentious bistro where you can get a perfect omelette and a really good house red. This is a good value lunch menu à prix fixe with...More

We were recommended Bistro Pierre but it looked a bit touristy for our liking so found this place on Tripadviser. We were pleasantly surprised that we could have the pre theatre menu which was excellent value for money. The portion sizes were generous for the...More

We contacted the restaurant in advance to let them know we had some out of date vouchers to visit. The team were fantastic and said they’d accept these even though they were out of date. The food was amazing, it is a gorgeous quaint little...More

Always enjoy French Living. Super atmosphere, good food and wine. Just a comfortable place to be. I am transported back to a neighbourhood bistro in almost any part of France. Wish we had more like it.

It's an odd little place. There is one cramped women's toilet for the whole restaurant and the seating areas were also a little cramped. The restaurant was quite chilly which is unusual. Not much choice on the menu. Bread was nice. Chicken was not so...More

Tuesday. 1pm. Surprisingly busy. Turned up on spec. Love the decor, which certainly feels French café and loads to look at while dining alone. I asked if I could get lunch within an hour: no problem. I was shown the very reasonable price lunch menu....More

Description
A family owned brasserie in a French provincial town...Nottingham! Since 1994, this delicious Gallic haven, presided by charismatic Corsican Stephane Luiggi, has created a tiny piece of France in the centre of Nottingham. Today it's a thriving, bustling restaurant on two floors, with a ground floor dining area for up to 40 customers boasting a unique Deli Corner, offering farmhouse unpasteurised cheese, wines from small growers, French grocery essentials, as well as some rare brocante finds. A large red-bricked basement room, for up to 44 diners, is reminiscent of Toulousain restaurants, La Ville Rose, where Stephane met his Nottingham-born wife Louise. The dishes and menus are typical of a French bistro; simple, classic recipes, all home-made from fresh ingredients. Stephane and Louise aim to serve meals that make the French feel at home, and the British remember their holidays. Authenticity, combined with a desire to share French culture, to pass on knowledge, from translations to the hidden gems of Corsica, makes French Living a truely unique, warm and memorable experience.
