First the good. We came in here due to the fact that we were seeing a show at the concert hall just across the road. I had the chicken and leek pie TOH had the chili. The food was very nice good size pie and a rich gravy. The chili came with some rice and nachos. The chili had a... More

Lovely old and cozy pub in Nottingham. I loved the variety of ales and lagers! Will definitely go here again!

This is a good pub to visit whilst in Nottingham. Uni students walk by so you can have a quiet drink. The staff were very friendly when we visited and they made us feel very welcome... I would rather have a drink here than any of the bars frequented by drunk students. Would recommend and return for drinks

A very cozy pub with fantastic staff. They support local apple farmers and have great still ciders from local breweries. The food is also exelent 😊

Popped in for lunch.Ordered fish and chips along with chilly and rice + a battered prawn lite bite to have at the same time. Drinks were a lager and a coke. The coke was watery and tasteless the lager wasn't the best I've ever had. When the meal arrived the chilly sauce was dropped over my wife's scarf, bag and jacket and was... Went in after great night at Theater Royal. Pub was busy but bar staff showed no interest in serving us. After an unacceptable waiting time we were served by a real sour faced woman. The coke my friend wanted was watery. they replaced it but again it was awful. Complained but no joy; the old "tastes alright to me" nonsense.... More

Wanting a late lunch after a wander around the Christmas markets on Sunday 18th December that wasn't a chain or full of families and this seemed to fit the bill. Mulled drinks were on the menu but not available so perhaps the board advertising them should have been removed? Upon going to bar my partner was told the cook had... More

Unpretentious, service with a smile and a changing range of real ales accompanied by a voting system to ensure that they get and keep their stocks right for the clientele. Usually a meeting spot, pre-theatre rather than pay a fortune for plastic wine from plastic cups across the way. Not a refined establishment (plenty more pretentious places on offer not... More

Excellent pub! Great service. Happy barmaid who gave you the time of day. Gave me tasters for my real ales which was nice. I drank old golden hen which she recommended. Lovely pint poured correctly with a sparkler. I'll be going back not had a good kept beer like that in ages!
