Visited this evening with friends . Although friendly staff the place was really quiet and given its quite large meant a poor atmosphere . Shame as previously had some good nights here

Our Sunday roast left us disappointed today, the plates were cold, food temperature tepid, Yorkshire pudding cold, really not very good

We visited on a Saturday afternoon looking for some food. There were quite a few people in, but still plenty of tables. The lunch menu looked pretty good and we ordered a couple of dishes. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait. We were fine with this, but it was difficult to see why. The place wasn't... More

I booked a table for 6 for Mothers Day lunch two weeks in advance online. I indicated in the booking that there was a member of the party who is gluten intolerant and has a severe nut allergy. I called the day before to double check and was told everything was fine and they could deal with the allergies. Then... More

Walked 20 mins in the cold to get here to find not 1 south African drink available. Don't think the bar staff even get the link!!!

Hi Cristi, hope your enjoyed your time here minus the lack of South African drinks. Our name comes from the position of the pub on the peninsula of two of the main roads into Oxford which was likened to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. We have a rotating range of craft and guest beers however we do... More

Really did enjoy the vegitarian roast. Full of flavour good portion sizes and nothing to complain there. Didn't get a good vibe from staff. When asking questions about the food the bar man wasn't enthusiastic about selling it or complimenting it generally lacking enthusiasm, which is a bit off putting. Very dark and cold through out the pub, but it's... More

I like that its dog friendly but the staff always look miserable. The menu could do with more vegetarian/vegan options as the quinoa burger is not the best. Its a nice pub but the staff and menu let it down.

It is what it is...a nice pub. My girlfriend and I often go here, as it's not as busy and hectic as other pubs along the Cowley Road. Would say the music is slightly too loud, but that's just me!

Went here to eat and drink and do the quiz. The menu is unusual so a good choice for everybody in a group. I had the chicken burger which was very tasty. The quiz is good if rather too late unless you live nearby. I was disconcerted to discover I'd been charged £9 for a glass of red wine--it was... More

I came here on a Friday night, and it got very busy! Luckily we had arrived earlier on and managed to secure a table. I ordered a chicken and ham hock pie which was perfect comfort food. I think they also redecorated recently? It looks great!
