We stayed one night on route to Somerset as a stop over. Cannot fault the location, room and staff. Room was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside for me was the evening food- We didn't find it anything particularly...More

Visited here for a wake. The food was nice and they had a wide range of drinks available, including wines and gin. I did not have a meal here, however I would definitely return. Easy to locate via SatNav and plenty of parking. The pub...More

We found The Bear and Ragged Staff quite by chance as we looked for somewhere to stop for lunch on our journey home after a weekend in the Cotswolds. The decor/styling of the pub is charming and well designed and the food and service were...More

The revamp of The Bear looks fantastic however I was hoping it would be better than it was. The food all tasted lovely however I found that the service was quite poor. It didn’t seem as if a member of staff was assigned the outside...More

We live in the village and regularly pop in here for a weekend breakfast or for dinner. It was always lovely but Peach pubs have given it a spruce up, improving this already beautiful country pub. Love the decor and outside decking area where we...More

This is a great traditional village pub. Full if charm and character. The selection of beer and wine were good and the cellarman obviously cares about his work as the beer was as good as it gets. The staff were really friendly and, as a...More

Excellent, friendly staff, a lovely quiet, modern room with plenty of teas and coffees and nice toiletries. Wi-fi good enough to stream Netflix and Sky Go. The food in the restaurant was quite superb. A real treat for a business trip.

Please can you review how you present Sunday lunch? From the way you present your food and the passion you clearly show it was strange to see cold, brittle and burnt Yorkshire puddings on 5 of the 6 plates... looking at other tables they too were similarly served. It may be better not to serve them if you find you have to pre-cook and reheat- I know you have to mass produce a lot for Sunday roasts but please do a quality review to see how you can serve them freshly baked? The roast beef was so evenly sliced it may be factory pre-cooked? The connective tissue was un-rendered in the slices I had which was unpleasant - again possibly because of the sheer number you have to get through I appreciate that you have to get through a lot of work but might be worth a review to check? Lastly the gravy served was over thickened and gloopy- possibly a batch that had been rushed late in the serving but it would be good to serve in gravy boats rather than cover the meat/ boiled veg on every plate, so people have the choice to serve themselves with what they want? I appreciate that Sunday roasts are hard work but with such a big turnover it would be worth checking things that might be slipping through that you may not be aware of, through no fault of your front of house staff who were friendly and helpful and lovely.
