My partner and I had not been to the Vicky Arms for several years despite living locally, we heard new management were is so thought we would give it ago again. First went on a Friday night for a few beers and have a lovely warm welcome from the landlady. Interesting choice of beers and not over priced, we checked... More

Hi. We visited on 7th Feb at lunchtime and it was very busy due to a funeral wake. We had to wait a little while but it was well worth it. We found the gluten free menu priori to our visit as my wife is coeliac and she was delighted to have a totally gluten free menu with plenty of... More

Opportunity to provide a rest break from a stay in the Radcliffe infirmary resulted in a brief visit here, Victoria took the booking , chris provided a superb 'front of house' service, politeness and kind service personified, food was good , in a pleasant pub. The pub was so flexible in helping my partner and I being able to move... More

I organised a party there and couldn't fault the service I had before from Ruthie, and on the evening from the staff serving us. They accommodated extra numbers, dietary requirements, served food promptly (which was excellent) and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely atmosphere and decor in the function room. Couldn't fault it and we all had a very enjoyable... More

Nice spot for a lazy Sunday lunch after a long walk on a rainy Oxford day. Sat next to the fireplace which was a bonus. Burgers that we had were good, salad looked a bit sad though. Good selection of beers. Overall good service and value. Will visit again.

Attractive looking pub, beautiful location, food very overpriced and not particularly decent sized portions. We had the ploughmans costing £12.50 which had a bread roll, 2 small pieces of cheese, 2 pieces of very tough and not very pleasant tasting pieces of meat, a very very tiny amount of leaves and 2 thin slices of beetroot. Way too much for... More

Ruthie and her team gave us a warm welcome, service was attentive and we enjoyed the Pie of the Day and Wiltshire Gammon, sharing a Sticky Toffee Pudding. A pint or two of Wadworth''s 6X certainly did not disappoint. We then took a recommended riverside walk to enjoy the scenery and help our lunch go down! As the board outside... More

Not many people in so service quicker than usual. Several menu items unavailable which was disappointing, especially to be told AFTER ordering. One of the starters was incomplete so had to chase staff for the remainder. Food was very good though. Two of our party went flying when exiting the pub because of black ice between the front door and... More

Had a pre Christmas dinner for 7 of us - really meagre portions and completely uncooked vegetables - they brought us more but after we'd finished rest of meal. No apologies.
