On the wall is a charming frieze of all the shops on Walton Street circa 1997 - what is noticeable is that most of them have changed names or identities in the past 20 years. One that has not is the Jericho cafe ... it continues to cater to a largely local clientele from its sunny corner location as it... More

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Yes, things have changed a bit along the street in our time, but we do try to keep our lovely, faithful clientele happy with a corner of continuity and consistency. It's good to still be here after all these years! More

Heard great things about this gaff. It was good but due to past glowing reviews I was expecting a tad more. Maybe a victim of its own success... Coffee was really awful, egg a smidgen over cooked but the sausages were a meaty delight. I'll give it another go but I'll be sticking to a safer cup of English tea.

I met three friends at 2:30pm on a Saturday. I saw a group get up to leave and grabbed that table while waiting for friends. No one came to wipe down the table which had lots of crumbs and sugar all over it. There are no menus in the windows, which is why I've never been in in four years... More

I'm sorry your visit was a disappointment. Our review in The Guardian 50 Best Breakfasts supplement last week made us incredibly proud but also incredibly, crazy, madly busy and we were rather overwhelmed at the weekend, as you no doubt saw. We are actively seeking more staff for weekends and I'm sure we will be back to our usual high... More

Delicious bacon bap - everything looked really tasty. Well worth seeking out on a rainy Monday Oxford morning.

Ive often visited the Jericho cafe for meet ups and once or twice for brunch. I generally think its a great place for coffee and cake. The brunch/lunch is a bit of a let down though. Its not that great, very basic things you could easily make at home yet quite priced. Just nothing special about it! I did once... More

Visited with some friends on New Year's Day. Enjoyed the meal of Bacon, Poached Eggs and Tomatoes with sourdough toast enormously. The bacon was cooked to perfection, along with two really tasty perfectly poached eggs and two halves of a giant beefsteak tomato which altogether with a mug of tea made for a perfect brunch. The service was prompt and... More

This is a delightful cafe in the heart of des res Jericho. It has space upstairs and down stairs. The cake is wonderful. It is a good place to study (downstairs)

Nice atmospheric cafe and friendly staff. I had a bacon and avocado salad which did exactly what it said on the board - loads of lettuce, avocado, bacon, parmesan, egg and croutons. A bit more bacon and a little less lettuce would have been nice, but that is just personal taste. Good coffee and nice looking cakes, but I was... More

We (my other half and I) went for Sunday brunch. The menu looked great. The reviews were good. The cakes on the counter looked absolutely fantastic (and they are served in enormous wedges). So far, so good. Unfortunately, they clearly don't have a budget for staff. Which is a shame. Staff took my payment and then promptly forgot about me.... More

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your experience in our café. Unfortunately we had not one, but two girls call in sick with the flu on Sunday morning and our remaining staff did the best they could to cope with an extremely busy shift whilst being unavoidably short staffed. I do apologise for the poorly washed cutlery, the wait to be... More

come here if you are hungry and want honest English breakfast, well served, with extra toast, butter and coffee. It is usually full but you can be fitted in.
