Always delivers good service and food. I have visited many times in the past couple of years. My only negative comment would be, the disabled toilet needs a good clean or refurb.

Tasty food, if a little expensive, but the car park is a disgrace. It was not even a wet day but, as we turned into the car park we were shocked at the state of it. If we hadn't booked and were meeting friends would have reversed out immediately and gone somewhere else. The car park is just a muddy... More

I dined here with three friends and we all enjoyed great food and service. I had the crispy beef salad and it was really nice. My friends all enjoyed their meals as well and they included the fish pie, the quiche and the pear salad starter. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. This... More

This is my absolute favourite pub in the Berkshire area. I love the roaring fires in the winter especially. It's a lovely cosy pub, with great food and drinks. Huge added bonus of having a river going through the garden too. Lovely stuff.

Walked here in a number of occasions and always been welcomed as if I am a regular. The food is great and served with a smile. Location is a great plus being on the road, canal and train route.

Warmly couched recommendations led me here with positive anticipation, but the fulfilment was second-rate, I’m sorry to say. Pleasant enough staff, though not terribly engaged with their customers other than on a statutory level. Food very average verging on poor: over salted soup and a nasty, glutinous knuckle of lamb shoulder; I’m told the terrine was fine and the fried... More

My husband and I did the circular walk given on the pub website which was lovely and took us 2 hours. We then went for Sunday lunch at the Rowbarge. We were seated on a tiny table, my husband had a coat rack by his head with people constantly bashing his head as they hung up/took their coats. I kept... More

I eat here regularly and the food is always good. I think it's good value for money. There is a good choice of beer too

This is half pub, half restaurant and has a great atmosphere, usually being quite busy (you need to book). The menu is varied with shoulder of lamb, burgers, fish and chips, guinea fowl and some large steaks. Good selection of starters, puddings, beers and wines. The food is good quality but I felt that some was a little more expensive... More
