We really enjoyed our supper at this restaurant last November. It was cosy and the fire was lit so the atmosphere was great. The food we ordered was fabulous - French camembert to share, braised blade of beef and venison pot. All too good to be true. We´ll definitely come back!

Early on a Saturday evening in Spring the place was busy, busy with a great atmosphere. We were seated promptly at our table, given menus and had our drinks orders taken very efficiently. Three of us chose the same starter and were very disappointed to be told that they had sold out. It is admirable that all food is prepared... More

Visited for lunch with friends having visited previously for Sunday and weekend meals. Food very good and well presented but Halibut portions were barely adequate for a child. £18 was a gross over charge. I didn't raise it at the time, as I didn't want to spoil the day but felt they made one fillet into 3 portions when 2... More

Weather was lovely so decided to pop into here for a drink on the way home from a day out. Sat out in the garden which was lovely! Was a very hot day so staff brought out bottles of water for the table which was a nice touch :) food looked lovely but didn't have opportunity to try!!

We both had a roast dinner. We were suprised at the portion size and the selection of veg. Mains and desserts were delicious, very attentive staff. Can't wait for next time. Shame we couldn't leave a tip on the card machine, will bring cash next time!

We felt that the high standard enjoyed on previous visits was not matched. As an example the prosecco ordered as a pre-dinner drink was not chilled but presented warm with a bucket of iced water - as was the white wine ordered to accompany the food. Some aspects of the food just lacked that sharpness of flavour we have previously... More

I've eaten at the Bladebone six times now with varying success. The three times Ive had Sunday lunch it's been very good. The three times I've had other things from the menu have been either just ok or poor. Recently I went with a few friends. I had fish pie which was tepid, tasteless and watery. The spinach with it... Very noisy front of the pub - tables close together. Group on table behind us f-ing & blinding at nauseum. I ordered the Haddock - what there was of it was nice - the portion was very small. The accompanying greens were hard and tasteles. (Certainly not worth £16.00.) Sticky Pudding for afters was average - the service was good.

Just enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch with a choice of roasts that all seemed delicious and could be enjoyed in a friendly country environment. The food was plentiful, cooked to perfection and well presented. An excellent Sunday lunch!!
