We just bought to take out, classic pasties and a large venison and game pie for dinner at home. The pasties were fine but the venison and game pie was absolutely delicious warmed up slowly at home with mashed potatoes and onion gravy. Excellent ! They do an amazing variety of pies !

Good if you want microwave pie for £7.20. Staff are helpful and polite but my rating remains 1 out of 5.

Fabulous little spot, with an amazing pie. Pastry is just melt in the mouth. After a walk around town a great bite to eat

Easy to miss and walk past, it does look just like a small shop from the front. Huge menu of pies and some good beers on offer as well. It is basic, this is not a michelin star place, but food is great in quality, quantity and value A pie (I had boar and venison) and a huge portion of... More

I normally just peck at lunch. But the steak and ale pie was great and I ate it all !! A little less salt would have been preferred though. We left with several more to take home for the freezer. Owner gave us a sampler of 3 beers to help us make up our minds. Great service!

Went with a group of friends and had heard great things about the pies. Just a shame that the pies are all microwaved so the pastry is soggy, no chips available in the evenings and the only potatoes available were boiled or jacket. Filling in the pie was great but I'd takeaway next time.

Having lived in Reading for 30 years I have never been here. Finally changed that and wasn't disappointed. Great election of pies. Lamb and mint was my choice and was delicious. A side of cauliflower cheese and new potatoes. Stuffed. Washed down with a couple of their ales available. All for a decent price.

We visited for the first time Sweeney & Todd as group of friends and the first few minutes were a bit odd with the waitress unable to find where was the table reserved to us. Once we got our drinks we were greeted by a lovely lady which took the order and knew all about pies. Food was good, but... More

While working in Winnersh/Reading England, I had to visit this place after watching the movie by the same name. The minced beef and onion meet pie was fantastic and the local beer made it even better. This is a genuine old style restaurant, with lots of atmosphere. I decided not to get a haircut and a shave next door...
