We have visited the Devonshire Arms several times and we find it a charming place with very helpful friendly staff.
The food is to die for with every course cooked to perfection & this place has become one of our favourite places to eat.
Keep...up the good workMore
Had an exceptional meal here this evening. Special shout out to the “pie of the day” and the wonderful curried monkfish which I seriously want the recipe for. The staff were beautifully trained: attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, but mostly leaving us to our own devices. Check-in...was superb. Even though it was really busy, check-in was very prompt and staff could not be kinder. Really recommend the excellent value “dinner, bed and breakfast” deal. The room is lovely: we are staying in The Mason, which is spacious, modern and comfortable. Bathroom is lovely. Live music downstairs is great. We can hear it from our room, but we were warned of this when we booked, so we’re perfectly happy. Air con unit is super and view is gorgeous. Already planning a return visit and to stay longer. Cannot praise this gorgeous place enough. 💕More
Went for lunch but turned out to be a great disappointment. Son-in-laws meal was absolutely terrible. Overcooked and the potatoes looked as if they had been reheated several times. I was really very cross indeed that food was served up to someone like this if...I had been on my own I would have made a big fuss.More

Fabulous evening with a 3 course meal and entertainment from the wonderfully talented Lindsay. Everything about the meal was spot on, the Vegan Goan Curry was outstanding. The service was impeccable as always. This was a fantastic evening from evry angle. Well done team Devonshire.
Visited here on a Sunday for a family get together of 10 plus baby. Very welcoming staff. Lovely location. Great food. Good atmosphere. We had a variety of meals from the Sunday lunch menu. A selection of starters, roasts including the platter, and some found...space for a dessert. Without exception the food was wonderful. Those that had the platter were particularly impressed. Nothing to even slightly criticise. A great location for this get together. We've just moved into the area so it will become a great local for us. Thank you to all the staff.More
The location and setting of the Devonshire Arms couldn't be any more welcoming. Seated at our table immediately upon arrival. Prompt service with both our drink and food orders. Friendly and efficient staff both bar and serving. We all received our food at the same...time. All was well cooked, well presented and ber tasty. Can't get over the fact that the pork chop was twenty quid! That being said to me it was how a pork chop should be, large, thick and a good portion of fat and crackling on it. But £20. The only teeny negative for me was that the bakewell tart had too much almond on the top for my liking, but the ice cream that accompanied it, absolutely delicious. The best ice cream I've ever had.More

Just had a few days here, what a great place!
Food amazing, staff all brilliant and room very comfy and well equipped . Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Owners should be very proud of all the staff.
We hope to be back again.
Lovely lunch in this fab pub, I had steak pie with Hancock chips and mushy peas, my other half had a tasty pie with tender pork in a scrummy sauce with chips and veg. Great service from cheerful staff.
