This is a great pub with friendly customers. A recent post by Blades 1967 passed judgement but omitted facts. Nobody was snogging on this visit. This is a tolerant pub where regulars do not judge. Blades 1967 - have a word with me instead of being homophobic. Your comments risk unfairly reflecting on this very diverse clientele.

had a good night in lord nelson apart from a couple of gay men snogging at bar area. nothing against the gay community but don't wish to see that while out having a good time. overall good beer and bar staff and a great atmosphere with locals making effort to make you welcome

I occasionally visit this pub on a Friday night as my brother is a Friday night regular. It has a very friendly atmosphere with a great set of regulars who will talk to you and make you feel welcome. I have never tried the food but there is a big variety of beers on offer and it inexpensive. There are... More

Been going here for a few years and have to say if any of the big chains need to employ an expert to train their staff in keeping good beer then they should look no further than the landlord of the Lord Nelson. Always has a wide range of real ale, numerous largers to choose from and for me produces... More

This can only be described as a drinking mans pub I've been using this establishment since the 60s with the clientele remaining faithful to the place it is commonly known as FANNYS and know one seems to know the reason why it is situated in a back street area amongst the old small steel works that SHEFFIELD was once famous... This place is literally 2 minutes away from the City Centre on a back street off the beaten track. What I would call a traditional pub with all you would expect from that - small but effective, excellent choice of drinks (including hand-pulled ales and foreign beers), very friendly staff, TV's for sport and an excellent jukebox to peruse. No... More

A pub that retains much of the traditional feel, despite a certain amount of modernisation. Very popular, especially on match days when Sheffield United are at home & clearly a 'Blades' boozer, though they do welcome the odd away fan. The pub itself is tiny but it is surprising how many customers it can accommodate & this only adds to... More
