The food here is gorgeous. We went for Sunday lunch and meat eaters and vegetarians all were very pleased with the standard of the meal. Everything on the plate was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. I was only sorry we didn't live in Bath! Staff very friendly too and good ambience.

We came for dinner with friends and what an enjoyable experience it was;the food was extremely tasty although the portion sizes were a bit small and the wine list was fantastic what a great selection of wines to choose from. The atmosphere was buzzing and staff were warming and friendly with nothing being too much trouble.

This is my mum's favourite gastro pub in Bath so she took me here on a Saturday evening. We hadn't booked, so were very lucky to get a table since it is very popular. I had a delicious sea trout dish and my mum had the vegetarian curry - which was a lot fancier than it sounds! Both were excellent.... More

We were excited to find this pub with a great beer garden away from the crowds in bath. The excitement grew when we saw the menu as the food sounded excellent. Things then got less exciting. The gas was off on the taps so there was no tap beer or cider. This setback seemed manageable, however then having to wait... More

Hi, thank you very much for your honest feedback. I'm sorry to read about your poor experience with us, last Sunday was indeed a rather challenging day due to few technical problems which affected our normally excellent standards. I hope you will give us a chance to make it up to you and visit us again soon. Kind regards Marco More

Had high hopes for this pub/restaurant as it came highly recommended in the cereal city guide but was very disappointed. We waited over 20 minutes to be served, my wine had to be chased twice and arrived halfway through my meal. When we received the bill it was not even ours - had to ask again for the real bill.... We arrived 45 mins early for our Sunday lunch but decided to go in for a drink. When we explained to the staff they could not be more helpful. They found a table for the two of us and said we could order lunch then if we wished. we both had roast beef which was delicious and the drinks and... More

The Marlborough Tavern has raised it's game for 2017. Have not been there for dinner for a while and found the food really good. As you look at the menu it seems a shade dear for a pub , but when it arrives you realise it is excellent value and portion size is good. Apart from standard menu there are... More

Not really a tavern. A good restaurant that sells good beer - what's not to like? There was consciously-labelled 'pub food' on the menu and it looked good going past but we went for the genuine-restaurant-stuff and it was truly superb. The only problem with an eating establishment that sells good beer is that by the time you get to... More

Spent a relaxing sunny Saturday afternoon here drinking cider. Nice courtyard beer garden. Didn't have food but everyone else's looked great.

Description
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.
