Wow this place was a amazing find. Set back in side streets tucked away when you walk inside it's so friendly and inviting. Staff were very friendly and we were served quickly. I had the roast chicken breast and my fiancé the belly pork, and we both agreed it was the best we had ever eaten. The flavours, the presentation... More

Less than three hours after getting off our trans-Atlantic flight into Heathrow, we were stopping here for lunch on our way to our holiday in Wales. Could not have been more happy with our experience! It was the warm haven you expect on a chilly English day with a great host at the bar, delicious food on the table and... More

Went today for Sunday roast. As a vegetarian who really doesn't like goats cheese I was excited to try the nut roast which (from the sample menu online) didn't state any goats cheese would include in the veggie option. Unfortunately when we arrived the menu we were given stated otherwise. I asked if the roast could be made without to... More

The last evening of our stay in Bath we visited the Chequers. A lively gastro-pub with some lovely food. Knowing it was our honeymoon they offered us complimentary prosecco on arrival. However, my wife is allergic to wine. Unfortunately no alternative option was suggested or given. The food was lovely, albeit the service a little on the slow side. The... More

Despite pre-booking well in advance we were allocated insufficient tables on arrival and were then advised that we would have to leave by a certain time. Not exactly a friendly welcome. We had also pre-ordered our food and yet several of our party were served the incorrect orders which was baffling. If the food was good it wouldn't matter but... More

I thought the prices were a little steep when I saw them at first but after eating there I can say it's definitely worth it. The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly.

We returned here again after a couple of years and must say that the food was excellent The only downside this time around was we ere seating in the bar area rather than upstairs in a more restaurant setting so it was a draft when people were in and out of the bar. But you can't fault fine food.

Lovely menu. I ordered the mackerel as a starter and it was delicious but a small portion. However the whole meal was beautifully balanced and by the time I had enjoyed my rabbit Wellington and the cheeses I was comfortably full without being "stuffed" and I was nowhere near hungry. The service was slick and watching those in the kitchen... More
