Having decided to travel the scenic route into Bath to avoid the City centre we came across this pub after a very enjoyable and picturesque winding route through some glorious countryside. From the outside it looks like a mini castle made of Bath stone, albeit...More

Seafood basket contained two small pieces of calamari rings, two prawns, two small pieces of battered cod. When I say small 1 1/2 inch wide by 1/2 inch high. Masses of peas and chips. Batter was over cooked. Fish and chips, masses of chips and...More

Nice pub and friendly staff. Sunday lunch was fine although both the lamb and beef were slightly overcooked which was a shame. The cauliflower cheese was, on the other hand, definitely on the al dente side. The children’s chicken goujons were deep fried rather than...More

Great venue, lovely staff and food excellent. Plenty of menu choices too e.g. to suit a vegetarian & smaller portion or children’s meals. Made a birthday celebration very special. Thanks. Would recommend booking to avoid disappointment...this is a popular eatery.
