From the outside this is a small, unassuming pub on a busy high street. Go inside and the friendly welcome and selection of well-kept local beers shows it is well-managed and pleasant place to spend a few hours. We popped in for a drink one...More

Outstanding. Top staff, quick service and amazing food. Get the steak - really good. Or the lamb. Missus reckons that's smashing.

Great pub. Friendly staff. Lovely food. You can take kids and dogs. They do roast lunch on Sunday. Two courses in the week. Highly recommend.

Bad experience yesterday, for a pre-booked (and confirmed) table of 6. We are all familiar with the pub, which is normally very or exceptionally good, but something went terribly wrong yesterday. The portions were ridiculously small, and the sumptuous descriptions of the printed menu were...More

Just back from an early pint (or 2) and dinner. Excellent meal- my chef salad with goat cheese, cress, walnuts and winter squash was delicious. My husband said his chicken was perfectly prepared and all but licked his plate. Both our desserts were equally good....More

Had yet another amazing meal at the King William last night. Food is fantastic and the staff are outstanding. We don't visit as often as we would like as it takes us over an hour to drive to Bath, but it's so worth it!

We were here for Sunday lunch, food was very good and good value. The service on this occasion was not as good as it should have been, long wait to even be offered a drink. The member of staff who attended to us was obviously...More

While we don't have a specific gluten free menu all of our dishes are freshly prepared from scratch and so we can adapt them as required. We have lots of gluten free customers so you'll be in good company. Looking forward to... More

Hi there, Yes we are very dog friendly in our bar areas but we don't generally allow dogs upstairs in the dining rooms. Hope this helps but if you have any other questions please give us a call on 01225 428 096. Many thanks... More

Description
When the King William restaurant in Bath was converted from the knackered pub it used to be, it became it gastronomic hotspot for Bath-ites who adore the excellent food and relaxed setting. The ground floor is a pub, with the fine dining room upstairs, all now eclectically kitted out with in shades of mauve with antiques, chandeliers and daily blackboard specials. Seasonal, free-range, organic and local sum up the provenance perfectly, for dishes like fried squid with fennel, ruby chard and green sauce and main of fantastic braised lamb for two with herb broth, mash and local greens. Superb small-producer beers and ales and a blistering wine list crown King William a top restaurant in Bath.
