Excellent environment, views, seafood, and end-to-end experience. If quality-price is critical that is the place!.

Following a couple of poor visits to Aqua (which is one of my favourite restaurants), I was wondering whether to try it again. However, I took some family from Africa whilst they were visiting and it was fab. My family were very impressed (as were...we) with the service and called the food exceptional. We all had lovely dishes- the food at aqua is always lovely and this was the case as usual. Everything was cooked to perfection for the main courses and my mind has thankfully been changed and I will absolutely be back to one of my favourite Bath restaurants. One thing I would say is the brownie could be much gooier and moreish- it was more cake like when I tried it this timeMore

Couldn’t have wished for a better finale to our various visits to Aqua. So sad that Christmas Eve is the very last day of business for this charming, tasty and most of all friendly restaurant. All our hosts - Jake, Alex, Evie and Calvin were...wonderfully positive and friendly, supported we know by chefs and management. Thank you for all your hard and professional work over the months and years, and we hope to see Aqua Bath rise from the ashes in the very near future. Merry Christmas!!More

Very large portions of very tasty food. It may have been a quiet Sunday night, but the staff were affable and welcoming, and created a good atmosphere for us. I'd come back again.

I loved Aqua but following some poor service two weeks ago where 2 steaks took 45 minutes to come out I was worried about having a birthday meal here that was already book… rightly so. Service was extremely poor- the person who served us was...clumsy and it for such a nice restaurant we expected good service. To start they forgot three of our drinks and when reminded we were told they were being made but then the person serving us came back to ask what they wanted again- so, they had been completely missed. Following this the starters were messed up too- the two salads (one should have been brought out as a main and wasn’t) were wrong and all that was on the plate was a tomato! This dish is the most expensive starter and the whole salad was missing- this was corrected by a sad plate of vegan mozzarella being brought to the table. My friend who was supposed to have her salad for her main was told she would get a free salad as a main as well due to the mess up. The chicken parfait comes with two measly pieces of tiny bread, so again, not worth £8. When the mains came out a vegan burger was brought out instead of a normal one- they then had to remake this. The salad was forgotten and then once it arrived it was clear the salad that was given out as a starter really was abysmal as this time the salad was much better. Because it was late, however, the person eating it was eating alone. We wanted desert but obviously avoided this because service was slow and it took a long time for meals to come out. There was no apology for all of the errors that took place and it was clear to both us and the staff that we all knew it was a poor dinner- the salads were taken off the bill, but there was still no apology. Currently, I feel there have been too many times where the service has been slow, clumsy and lacking energy. For a restaurant that is so expensive and nice, you would expect so much more.More

Had lunch here today. We had excellent service . The set menu for lunch was very good value and was delicious ! Last time we visited ( on a Saturday) it put us off as it was full of hen parties , however today (Friday)...was fairly quiet I’m pleased to say. A lovely relaxed lunch in pleasant surroundings .More

Well slightly disappointed. Nothing was terrible but for the price a bit underwhelming. Calamari- a bit chewy; scallops a bit too seared/burnt. Meatballs good. Mains- burger and steak both a bit overdone. Sea bass quite nice but the courgette was like 1970’s prawn balls- ie...tonnes of batter surrounding the slithers of courgette. Sickly. Also I had a ‘courgette fritter’ that was a calamari piece ! The room and the style was lovely Staff were nice but I don’t think the price was reflects in the food.More

Food was lovely and atmosphere buzzing. The service was shocking - no welcome, waitress seemed surprised we had arrived (table was booked) and the just pointed towards our table. We waited 15 mins before another waiter came near us, we had to ask for menus...and if we could order drinks. The waiter looked very stressed and very uninterested. I ordered a steak and they had run out, waiter came back to tell me but didn’t bring a menu for me to look at to re order. It then took me another 15 mins for the waiter to return to take my replacement order. When we finished our main course, our waiter half cleared the table. He did not ask us if we wanted to order desert. After 30 minutes we asked for the bill and left. It was really disappointing service.More

We had a lovely evening here, 4 adults and 2 children having a belated birthday celebration. The service was brilliant, one person in our group has a medical condition with complex dietary requirements which makes eating out very difficult, but Curtis was incredibly attentive and...helpful, in fact all of the staff were brilliant. We'll definitely be visiting again!More

I went to Aqua this week for a friend's leaving do. I had pre-ordered and advised the restaurant of my red berry allergy. On arrival, the manager spoke to me and explained that the chef was almost sure that the marinade for the chicken did...not have any red berries, but couldn't be 100% sure. I have eaten at Aqua before and had no problem with the chicken, so I said this would be fine. When my meal came, there was a huge spoonful of slaw next to my chicken, which had cranberries mixed in with it! Not small pieces, but whole cranberries. I didn't want to make a fuss, as it was a special evening for my friend, so I did my best just to avoid the slaw and just eat my chicken and chips (which were delicious), but I have now come out in a few hives around my mouth, indicating that there must have been some contact with a berry somewhere :-( It's not a life-threatening allergy, but it's obviously not great - especially when the restaurant was advised in advance. As I said, however, the actual food was delicious and the portion size was very generous. There's also a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. However, my Aperol Spritz was undoubtedly the worst I have ever had (and I have had a lot!). There was barely any Aperol in it - it was very pale, and was mainly just ice and soda. It definitely wasn't worth £7 as part of the 2 for £14 "offer". I also had to leave most of my pudding, as it was far too sickly. It was a chocolate delice. I am a confirmed chocoholic and always order chocolate puddings, but this was horribly rich and not at all pleasant, which was such a shame, as I was really looking forward to it.More
