We went to this restaurant with friends as it had good reviews. What a disappointment! Food just edible if you are hungry but didn't come across as 'amazing' as stated in other reviews. Not sure where or what other reviewers eat but this certainly wasn't up to previous ratings seen on the web. One good point that the staff were... More

Dear fharper951 Thank you for your review regarding your recent visit to the Dog and Doublet. Please accept my apologies for the shortfall in the standard of your fishcake. As our reviews show this is not our usual standard and I have passed your comments on to chef. I am pleased that our staff looked after you. Please be assured... More

Visited this restaurant with friends and had the most amazing meal. The menu was extensive and it was hard to choose as I wanted to try so many items. Our meals were perfect and delicious. The service was excellent and the staff friendly and very professional. We will definately go again soon. Thank you to all the chefs who obviously... More

Visited Bank Holiday Monday expecting it to be very busy but not too bad. We had booked though. Husband had terrine and chicken parpadelle. I had fried gnocchi and mac 'n' cheese. The meals were both lovely, rich sauces so couldn't manage desserts. We thought we'd go for pasta instead of our usual meat mains. Very pleased we did. Would... More

On Wednesday 12th April, I visited the Dog and Dublet with high expectations, I had the steak which was over cooked (I asked for rare and was served a medium) and this happen to another person I was with. Another member of my party had the faggots and said that they were dry and too heavy with not enough gravy.... More

We were staying close to Stone and wanted a good place to go for dinner to celebrate a birthday. The food was stunning and the service just as good and it definitely did not disappoint. I would highly recommend going!

Excellent- lovely food. The Scotch egg and sausage rolls were warm and tasty. Good quality ham. Friendly service.

We were looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't too far off the M6 on the journey back from Liverpool to London. The reviews for this place seemed encouraging. We rang from the car to book and arrived at 3pm on a Sunday. Perhaps if we'd been eating nearer the beginning of their lunchtime service the quality of what we... More

Wow! This place is just excellent. The food is amazing, the choice of drinks is very good and the service is fantastic. All the waitresses are very attentive and are constantly watching the tables to see if everything is ok and if more drinks are required. Well worth a visit but booking is advisable.

A very good pub in a lovely village, part of the Lewis group chain, the most none being the Moat House in Acton Trussell near Stafford. Food very good although a little pricey but this pub is not a 'two for One' place.
