Visited for the first time in ages ,what a pleasant experience, from the staff who could not do enough for us,to the main event the excellent Sunday lunch, how good was that, fantastic quality and quantity, would recommend in a heart beat, well done.
Just wanted to extend my thanks to all staff at the Swynnerton Arms for what was a beautiful meal on Father’s Day. With 12 of us on our booking it was an excellent achievement to serve all of us at the same time fresh, delicious...meals. Not one member of our family had any complaints whatsoever. You did an exceptional job (both waiting on staff and kitchen staff) and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, after nearly two years of not being able to celebrate as a family, you strived to make our day special… and it was, so thank you. xxxMore
Always been a family favourite but not anymore. Three burger stacks were average but homemade steak & ale pie was awful but it was the only meal served with proper chips as the burgers were served with fries. Gone are the days of the famous...Swynnerton chips.
The drink prices were extortionate- £3.30 pint of cola & £1 for a 'dash' of lemonade. Such a shame won't be going again.More
We visited today for the three course Sunday roast. The food was very good. All courses were tasty and well presented. My partner has a large appetite so he was happy. Service was good and the pub had a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be...visiting again.More
The waiting times were absolutely abysmal it took 1 hour for the staff to take our drinks order then 20 minutes for them to remember to inform the other member of staff to ask for our food order.... that then took another hour and ten...minutes to arrive.... had to ask my wife brush the dust and cobwebs off me we waited that long.... not good.More
Upon booking a table for Sunday lunch, we arrived to find a quite pub.
We sat down the waitress came to take our drink order, drinks arrived wrong.
She returned with the correct order and took our meal order.
All four members had the two...course, we waiting 1hr5mins for our food to arrive bearing in mind there were only two other tables in the food tents with us.
Food arrived cold!
Nobody came back to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything.
We finished our meals and waited a further 35 minutes for our plates to be cleared.
At this point the puddings were cancelled!
Very very poor service, very disappointed.
After being closed for so long and people starting to visit again service should be priority.More
Me and my partner called in for tea after a busy day at work late one Sunday evening.
The Covid system they have in place is very well signed and we were made to feel safe and spaced from other in the restaurant.
We had...three courses, the soup and the nachos were delicious, proper homemade soup!
Then the fish and chips and a beef stroganoff, the tartar sauce with the fish was homemade and lovely! The stroganoff was creamy and the meat tender. We couldn’t fault the food or the service! I would say the staff are so friendly and the service very good, but maybe use the clear face visors as you can’t see expressions or hear them very well, but that’s only me picking.
We will see you againMore
We went to the swynnerton arms on 23rd oct for tea. The food was nice however the peas were over cooked and my friend ordered medium steak which wasn't cooked enough for her it was still bleeding. We asked for it to be re done....By the time it came back out we had all finished our meals. I complained about this to the very young obnoxious waiter who asked the kitchen staff. They insisted the steak was cooked how it should have been and they would offer 10% off her food he said because the food was eaten then they wouldn't offer anything else. I went on to say that the food was nice its the fact that we has all eaten our mains before my friends food had come back out that was the issue. One of the kitchen staff came out of the kitchen and gave us all a dirty look. Upon my entering the ladies she was in there. I asked her where her hair net was and she replied that they didn't have to wear them in the kitchen which I was shocked at as I thought it was compulsory for staff to wear hair nets when working with food???. She didn't have a mask on when walking through the restaurant and also didn't follow the 1 way system after returning from the toilet. Surely the staff should be setting an example be it kitchen or front of house. When I returned to my table the member of the kitchen staff preceded to stand at our table waiting for an argument. I spoke to what I think was the on duty supervisor who was fabulous as there was no manager on-site. I mentioned the hair net and she insisted that all kitchen staff have to wear them but the staff member said they didn't???? She couldn't apologise enough for the food and for the staff being rude and offered us a refund on the food and also take out desserts. Needless to say we won't be returning to the swynnerton arms again in a hurry due to the rude staff and the chefs inability to cook a piece of steak or peas correctly.More
