As you can see from my profile I very rarely do trip advisors but I felt I had to tell everyone about this little gem. I have visited The Abinger hatch twice with my boyfriend and we both absolutely love it, the staff are all so lovely and so genuinely happy to see you and friendly it doesn't feel at... More

Disappointed by the very average service, they were great with the locals but totally uninterested in me as my 6 year old son. Food very average, how can burger and sausage and chips take 40 mins? Also, far too much salt on a child's chips. Why any? Lovely setting and building but needs a review of kitchen and service standards

We went to this pub last year and had a fab lunch, so when we were in the same area decided to pop back , really should not have, we had the sharing platter which was lovely before and now its just salami and bread and tinned olives , will not be making a detour again ......

We haven't been here for ages. Thought it would be a good venue for lunch. Location and pub itself really nice. Large secluded garden that provided plenty of places for children to run around and play hide and seek. But there ends the positives. We ordered food and were sorely disappointed when it arrived. I'm certainly not fussy but the... More

Perfectly situated pub. The ideal place for a Sunday walk followed by lunch. The beef and pork roast were excellent. It is quite busy so not a bad idea to phone and book a table. Andy the owner provided excellent advice on local walks.

Dropped in while cycling with a friend. Friendly welcome, quick service, good pub grub. No complaints. Situated in a beautiful location. So nice to find a traditional, unspoilt village pub.

Have not been to the Abinger Hatch for a few years and went with family for Easter Monday lunch. The standard of the food has slipped dramatically since my last visit. Should not be difficult to provide a decent roast dinner. The lamb was dry, the potatoes were like golf balls and the vegetables were under cooked and sprayed with... More

Went for dinner on Easter Sunday and was really disappointed by the food. The portion of 'aubergine cannelloni' one of my companions was served with was pitiful and had to be returned. My own 'slow cooked lamb' was bland and completely under seasoned. It was a soggy mess of shredded looking meat, the roast potatoes were soggy, the gravy tasteless... More

We were just there for a drink. Who'd have known ordering 4 drinks would be such a chore for the staff, who we assumed were the owners. The staff were rude to everyone else trying to provide custom in different ways. Insulting those who couldn't remember which name their table was booked in, harassing another with their order, needlessly getting... More
