The Keep is part of historic Guildford, situated a short walk from the ancient city wall and Guildford Museum, and across the road from Guildford's Norman castle. Parking is easy, in a multi-storey carpark a hundred yards away. As I write this, there is a major building project neaby, replacing Tunsgate Mall and car park with a brand new building... More

Went here last week for a drink before eating out. Sat upstairs as a whisky event on downstairs. Upstairs toilet looked like it had not been cleaned for weeks. Disgusting! Won't be returning.

Good choice and well presented. I am vegetarian and didn't struggle to find something I liked. Would happily eat here again. Staff were very friendly.

We booked the small event room upstairs as a catch-up for those who couldn't make it to the main stag party aboard. Jane was amazing at getting us booked in and so welcoming. Bar service was great, and drinks choice is second to none in Guildford. If you like gins and whiskeys this is the place. Thank you again.

I popped in here for a drink in the early evening. It is a small but cosy place with a small outside courtyard heated with a heating lamp during cold weather. The staff were friendly, and the beer was good, although not a big selection of draft options. It was quite quiet when I was there.

I visited The Keep (several times already) following a recommendation by a colleague. The place does have a good selection of gin (exactly what I was looking for) and offers nice atmosphere especially in the evenings. It would be great if the bar staff are trained better on the types of gin they offer and can actually give recommendations.

It isn't often that you get pleasantly surprised by the average looking public house but The Keep has a few secrets. It is unpretentiously set in a run of terrace properties opposite Guildford's Castle Keep. So many pubs in Guildford have been ruined by their modernisation programmes which obliterate the public house ambience but here, at the Keep, there is... More

The ale selection is not the biggest in town but the ale chosen is good quality and is always well kept. I have been to The Keep for a number of years now and I have never had a bad pint of ale here. Good honest pub food is also served.

I visited the pub restaurant recently. The food was fine but the state of the men's toilets was a disgrace. There was grime and dirt over the exposed outlet pipes and cubicle sides The pipes could be boxed in to avoid this hygiene risk. The toilet pan was dirty with heavy staining from hard water calcium deposits and needs replacing.... More
