Quite pleased with this restaurant. 3 of us decided on a venture into town after a Thursday in work. The restaurant wasn't overly busy but the staff didn't seem that focussed. My friend ordered sheesh kebab roll which is up there with the best starter courses I have ever tasted. Mains were good too and again the tarka dal was... More

The restaurant seemed busy, which is always a good indication that the restaurant is popular. It took an age to be served, let alone offered a drink. When the food arrived it was pleasant but nothing to write home about. At the end of the meal we were not offered any mints or sweets that is the norm at Indian... More

Called in for a table on the night at about 9.30pm on Saturday night and got a table for two with problems. Service was good and quick. We had the pickle tray which came with four pickle dips, a onion based one, a mango dip, a spicy tomato one and a yogurt mint based dip. For main we had Lamb... More

Found myself in newcastle on tuesday night, couple of jars with the wife , then stumbled onto Rani restaurant. A Tuesday night Indian can be a bit hit or miss ,ive found, but this was superb , service, food and ambience spot on . A little more pricey than the norm but well worth it . .
