Slow service, no wine list and mediocre food. No one else in restaurant but took 2 hrs for 1 course meal. 1 meal was a caesar salad which had a grey mush of avocado in it and no croutons. We had to ask for a...wine list 3 times. The waitress blamed the bar staff for taking it! As it had taken so long to be served we decided not to have a pudding and opted for a coffee. My friend's americano was so weak she asked for a stronger one. We did mention to the manager that we weren't happy with our experience. He listened and said they'd only just opened so had lots to learn.More

We booked a table for my 30th birthday which we thought would be a nice treat. How wrong were we. On arrival all the waiting staff were getting drink orders wrong and taking drinks to the wrong customers.. People were having their steaks delivered but...no steak knives were being handed out before. We were waiting 1 hour before we even recieved our starters. The waitresses kept getting confused with what table was having what food. It was actually extremely stressful to watch. We finally recieved out mains after 1.5 hours and they were absolutely shocking. My steak was cold so I sent it back, it was thrown on the grill and reheated. This meant that the medium steak I asked for was now well done. Shocking to be honest for such a famous restaurant. When I finally got my steak back the mushrooms were stone cold. in all this time my boyfriend still has his meal infront of him. We wanted to eat together not half hour apart. We ordered 3 sides and the onion rings came out 15 minutes after i sent the first steak back. This means if the steak would have been properly cooked, we'd have finished our mains before recieved our side. We complained to the manager who didn't really seem bothered. We actually ended up walking out and getting noodles from a street stall which were 1000x better than the shocking standard we recieved from your restaurant. We've had better service in back street Macdonald's than we did last night. I'm extremely disappointed and to be honest will probably never go to another Marco's restaurant because of this appalling service. This isnt an isolated incident as on our way out another diner actually called us over and said they recieved the exact same service the night before.More

We visited as a group of friends and had an amazing time. We had taken advantage of an offer for evening dinner and overnight stay which did not disappoint. Our meals were excellent. Restaurant was very clean, smart and well organised. Staff were very friendly...and helpful. Breakfasts too were very good. We had a great time thanks to Marco Pierre White and Hotel Indigo Newcastle.More

We cancelled last week after hearing there was a limited menu but when we were told the same again this week I asked for a copy of the menu. It included 4 steak options so we went ahead with the rearranged booking. When we arrived...we were seated immediately, table was a little wobbly and it would have been nice to have one of the booths but it wasn't an issue. Service was perfect, Trina was so friendly and helpful and really made our visit. Steak was perfectly cooked, medium but charred on the outside, chunky chips were crispy and really hot. Good home made onion rings and a large portion of mac and cheese (possibly could have had a little more flavour but was still tasty enough). Prosecco was very reasonably priced as was the red wine and both hit the spot. Dessert was also tasty, great chocolate sauce. Would definitely visit again, especially as the service was so good.More

We only ate at the restaurant as it was part of a deal we had booked with the hotel. The food can only be described as average but it was the service that totally let it down. We had to ask for the wine/drink list...3 times before it was brought to us. We eventually managed to order a bottle of wine 45 minutes after being seated in the restaurant and it arrived part way through the main course. The dessert was described as chocolate brownie but was just a small piece of chocolate sponge with ice cream. It wasn’t the gooey consistency that a brownie should be. As we had registered a credit card we were told that the extras would be added to our bill. On checking out of the hotel we found that a 10% service charge had also been added to our bill. I don’t mind paying a service charge when the service is good but on this occasion asked for it to be removed. Definitely will not be eating here againMore

There are definitely marked differences between the restaurants in the Marco Pierre White empire. This seemed a bit more basic than the one in Chester. We were welcomed into the restaurant and seated immediately in the middle of the back half of the restaurant. I...ordered a gin martini to begin which arrived at room temperature. I really shouldn’t have ordered “off menu”. Starters of beetroot salad and calamari were good and the steaks were also very tasty with excellent chips. Service was good.More

We have waited months to go to one of our favourite restaurants. My wife and I received a voucher as part of our Christmas present off our daughter who give the voucher knew we both liked this steak house. But how disappointed we were we...both had the onion soup as starters which was ok but we both ordered the rib eye steak probably the easiest steak to cook and definitely the tastiest. What should have been a succulent tasty steak was tough as old shoe leather and tasted the same. I think the steak must have been in freezer since the original lock down. Disappointed when asked by the waitress did we enjoy our meal we told her it was tough and she did say she was sorry the next table to ours had just return their surf n turf steak because that was over done. For a meal which we paid £138.00 incl wine and waited months to have needless to say we for one couple will not be back in a hurryMore
