This restaurant has great Vietnamese and Chinese dishes suitable for vegetarians and most are vegan. It's also great value for money as a starter platter and 3 massive mains came to around £35

Saturday lunch time visit 2 adults and 1 child. We arrived and there was 3 tables taken. As we sat there it slowly filled up. Every table was taken. 2 adults meals came out first 10 minutes later the children's meal came out. This is NOT on. No restaurant should serve meals unless all meals are ready. Regardless if the... Seemed like a nice place but there was no excuse for a wopping 2hr waiting time. No excuse either that we were a larger group because we ordered days in advance, so it was even worse when they told me my oredr wasnt available. 5 of our group had to leave before the food even arrived. Further to that about... More

Husband and I were staying next door at the Novotel and wanted a quick meal before a concert at Symphony Hall. Andrew looked after us wonderfully ensuring we got prompt service. The food was prepared quickly and excellent quality. I wish we had more time to properly enjoy the menu rather than just quickly grabbing a main course. Excellent value... More

I was in Birmingham for a trade fair last week, and a friend of mine recommended visiting Cafe Soya for a meal as it is very vegan friendly. Our hotel was only a few hundred yards away in Upper Dean street, and so I could not resist, and the place was heaving....we were told that there would be a 45... More

I had heard a lot of good things about cafe soya. We found that it under delivered. Food didn't taste very fresh. The fruit bubble tea tasted like the over sweet artificial milkshakes I had as a kid. The toilets were pretty dirty and the sink looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while.

The Vegan Grand -Daughters birthday ..we were under strict instruction to only order Vegan so we had crispy duck substitute and pancakes and all the trimmings to start and it did not disappoint !! Mains were equally good and you don't have to veggie and its licensed Service is friendly and attentive..but don't just take my word for it

I normally don't leave a bad review but this one was too bad not to let others know. Went on a Saturday after a long day at the NEC and what a waste of a time. Horrible in every sense, but worst of all it was way understaffed. So busy They needed at least another 10 staff. Food also very... More

I am a regular at Cafe Soya purely because of the food; it is consistently great- hot, fresh and tasty.

Come here all the time absolutely love it. There is a veggie menu as well as the standard menu. Loads of choices of mock meat dishes. The starters are great. I particularly like the prawn toast, fruity spare ribs and the chicken skewers all mock meat of course. In the mains the chicken and sweetcorn fried rice are a must.... More
