Birthday treat for my SO, food and service really were top class and I was pleased to have selected it for this special treat. I particularly like the unpretentiousness of the place and the friendliness of the staff. Only one downside...the exterior setting is slightly disappointing for a restaurant as good as this.

I took my husband for a birthday surprise and when I arranged the booking I was told on the phone they would take extra care of my husband - this didn't happen. The portions were an excellent size, my husband and I were full after the mains so sadly couldn't do dessert (they looked fantastic!). The bread was delicious, the... More

My boyfriend and I had Sunday Lunch and the menu did not disappoint. The first highlight was the bread - some excellent sourdough and their special brioche with bacon, onion and pork lard on the side. The bacon and onion brioche is possibly the tastiest bakery product I ever had! As starters we had the scallops with cauliflower - which... More

Our second visit here, the last was about 18 months ago. Decor wise its still luxurious yet cosy and i found the maitre'd made us very welcome. We had the £18.50 2 course lunch. We wer nt expecting fireworks for that price but it definitely lacked the wow factor we got last time and at Adams. I had the fish... More

Turners is a nice cosy place with outstanding food & wine, with plenty of (paid) parking. We've been several times and it's worth the short drive from central Birmingham, a much better choice than the chain restaurants in the shopping area.

A first visit in 2017 and for an evening meal at this famous Harborne eatery. I think I miss the tasting menu, but I can appreciate the effort it takes to deliver one, day after day. The à la carte menu is short and sweet with a good selection and starts with delicious Oysters (I had two) and the most... More

Is Turner's like other Michelin starred restaurants? No; probably not. Is that a bad thing? No, not really. Most Michelin starred restaurants have an enormous army of staff hovering around you all the time That's fine, but you have to wonder whether it's really necessary. We've done lots and it's great - but is it also okay without it; yes,... More

We were given a Travelzoo voucher at Christmas for Turners, and were really looking forward to enjoying a wonderful meal. The voucher had a 3 month duration, but my wife has been ill, so I asked Turners if it would be possible to extend it. I spoke to the Head Waiter, and a number of other staff on seven occasions. Never... More

Went for Mothers Day lunch. Food was variable. Bouillabaisse in particular was unappealing - hardly any sauce. Desserts were better. Main issues was really poor service. They repeatedly forgot who was having what meal - minor but annoying. Dessert came out when one of our party was in the loo and was so over filled it dripped on the table.... More

This was a different Michelin experience than others in as much as the decor was fairly basic really. An unassuming restaurant from the outside. However, the food was the reason for going and I have to say, was every bit worth it's Michelin Star; the starter of venison terrine etc was beautifully presented, offered flavour, texture, crispness and freshness. Following... More
