Came here as a group of work colleagues on the back of a recommendation. I understand this is one of a small chain. Restaurant is apparently in an old nightclub so is pretty big and noisy but not so much you can't talk across the table. Was busy for a Monday night so saw that as a good sign. Nice... More

Went with work group for a preset meal. The staff are friendly and service was good. Ate a warm starter which was missing some food. Was chatting to colleagues so just ate. Finish a small mix of Curry's with rice and bread and within 20mins it started. Not going into too much detail but i didn't get off the loo... More

Curry came, 10 minutes later the chips and 10 minutes after that the rice!!! Terrible service and then once all the food was there it was one big rush to get the table cleaned and you out. Felt like a staff canteen, average food for expensive prices. £3.75 for half a pint of beer. Loads of cut backs in the... More

Friday night meal here whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door. The reputation is far better than the reality. Nothing particularly wrong with the food but no better than your average curry house and far more expensive. The surroundings are tired and worn and in need of some TLC

A happy noisy fun place on Saturday night, recommended, will definitely go again. Food plentiful, varied and fun. Staff have a much needed sense of humour.

We came to Akbars as part of a very large group for our a University social. The food was excellent! The naan bread and vegtable curry being a particular favourite. It was nice and authentic to have the curries in the dishes they were in and the hanging naan breads unlike anything i'd seen! The service was also excellent, especially... More

Our large party recently had an excellent meal at Akbars, Birmingham. The food was absolutely delicious - cannot recommend their family naans enough! The highlight of the visit was the outstanding customer service from Shazad & Freed. They catered to the needs of our group perfectly and ensured the evening was a resounding success. Thank you very much to both... More
