I had my first Ethiopian/African food with my partner. The waiter was really polite and nice, he gave us complimentary coffees at the end. It's nice and quite there. Definitely recommend it.

I hadn't tried Ethiopian food before so I decided to visit the Blue Nile with a friend to see what it was like. Best decision ever! This has become my favourite restaurant in Birmingham hands down. This place does vegetarian food like no other, and such variety and flavour as well! I have brought my friends here and time after... More

We had the Blue Nile sharing platter. Very tasty and a wide variety of flavours from the 10 dishes on offer on the platter. Although it says for two people it would cater for three

The Blue Nile is sited on a busy main road just at the edge of the jewellery quarter; the area doesn’t look great, but is actually fine. There is road parking in the evenings. The restaurant itself is bright and cheerful with plenty of tables. There service provided by the barman/waiter is excellent (he even advised us that we were... More

First time I tried Ethiopian food before, it became the best restaurant I have ever been to. But this place, unfortunately, didn't live up to the expectation. I appreciate, it could be because the food was delivered, but the taste really wasn't great. Very oily and no flavour.

This was our second visit to the Blue Nile with friends and we were more than pleased to find the same warm welcome and good food this time. We chose a range of main courses including Asa Tibs ( fish with peppers, tomato and chilli), chicken with spinach along with a shared platter of two lamb dishes with vegetables and... More

We ordered a speciality dish for two that consisted of 10 different dishes. Served on one big plate with and eating only with hands made a great experience. The coffee in the ends was the best coffee I had in a really long time, and I'm kinda coffee snob.

Went on a friends recommendation. Decor and service was average, but delicious Ethiopian food. Went for the veggie combo and grilled fish - delicious with the Ethiopian sourdough. Great value as well - We'll definitely be popping back...

I had often complained that there were no Etheopian places in Birmingham so was delighted when I found this place. Located a bit awkwardly in the Jewellery Quarter parking could be an issue. It is not fancy on the outside but inside is rather cosy with uitable decorations and friendly staff. For those not familier with this type of eating... More

We had the blue Nile special for 3 people. No cutlery you have to use Injera (a sourdough flatbread). The staff are very friendly it's a family like service so forget all about normal restaurants be open minded and enjoy a good dining experience.
