My friend and I popped in for lunch on our way back from shopping. As always the food was delicious especially the keema lamb. A lovely lunch and not too expensive either.

Sat us down, drinks and great discussion. Sent out selections of the chef's choosing all evening, all courses were better than even expectations.

Great selection of food, highest quality taste and service. Excellent experience. Definitely stands out as superior cuisine where to try some lesser known indian recipies.

Food was ok but very salty, restaurant is dark and very expensive for a curry. Would not recommend just average curry for very inflated price for nothing special

Absolutely loved the itihaas in Selfridges (Birmingham). Would love to know why it closed down? Really miss it as it was our favourite place to eat. Wish it would open again!

Description
Itihaas is a stunning restaurant where contemporary meets traditional. No expense has been spared in achieving this, and as you step into this two million pounds restaurant, you will certainly see just that. The decor is clean and crisp with plate glass and slate finished walls. This smart and sophisticated interior is complimented by the 18th and 19th century Indian artefacts, including original paintings, carved stone elephants and 300 year old doors. Downstairs, the Maharaja Suite which also seats 80 is luxurious with opulent mood lighting and decorated with more Indian treasures. To complete the real ambience, behind 300 year old Indian wooden doors is the Tiffin Room which seats 12, complete with a bar, library and your very own dedicated butler!Cuisine in this fine establishment is created by award winning chefs and staff who come from Indian Five-Star Hotel backgrounds. They have a single aim - to be able to deliver the authentic Royal Indian dining experience to its patrons with utmost courtesy and hospitality. The menu will take you on a culinary journey through the North of India with a couple of stops through Kenya and vibrant Mumbai. At this royal eatery, indulgence is paramount.
