I've been to several tasting dining experiences and I would say my experience at Prunell's was one of the better ones. Service was fantastic (I guess little surprise there). Food ranged between above average to extraordinary. Some outstanding dishes that I could remember: - Egg...with coconut and bacon -> salted egg with toppings in an egg shell. - Black canary potato -> potato covered in a crispy charcoal-like texture. - Burnt English egg custard -> creme brulee custard in an egg shell. - Mint choccy chip -> chocolate chip with infused mint. It was an amazing experience and the atmosphere is really good for celebrations or business meetings.More

We visited at Lunchtime for my partners Birthday and decided to take the full tasting menu. Having seen Mr Purnell over the years on numerous TV programmes we were excited to try the food. The food was good, with some great dishes and interesting flavours,...although a few didn't quite hit the mark with the take on cheese and pineapple a particular dissappintment. But what the real dissapointment was the service, we seemed to get served by every member of staff in the dining room, and whilst polite it didn't feel as welcoming as other restaurants we have visited. At one point I ordered a glass of wine, which never arrived so I had to ask again at which point it was served and was kindly on the house, but the main issue was when our main course was served to the table next to us. When they realised the dishes were just moved on to our table with a very brief apology from the waiter, no attempt to replate/recook. When I ordered the bill the service charge was included, I asked for this to be removed, which it was, but there was no real acknowledgement of the problems we had faced or an apology from the manager. I would expect this at other establishments, nevermind a michellin starred restaurant. So overall a dissapointment and not what we hoped forMore

Beautifully presented and fabulous tasting food. Had the lunch taster menu and would absolutely recommend it as a culinary experience. The service was first class.

Been for several tasting dining experiences. Food was fabulous and service faultless. Comparing to other experiences it didn't overwhelm and I think this was purely due to the overall lack in ambience and uncomfortable and unintimate seating arrangements. Needs to be a bit less bright...with more intimate seating arrangements when spending a lot of money on a fine dining experience. I don't really want to be hearing the next tables conversations and phone calls. It's the little touches that it was missing.More

Had the tasting menu. What can I say ,amazing! Food is absolutely sublime, every course is a taste adventure from start to finish.Cheese and pineapple on a stick so clever, thought the brulee in the egg was fab but it was followed by that divine mint...choccy chip ! Everyone should save up and go !! The staff are all lovely too and it is great to see the man himself in the kitchen, not just name on the door.Thankou Mr Purnell, keep doing what you do !More

First visit post Covid. Excellent starter and dessert. Appetisers stolid, neck of lamb main okayish. Service enthusiastic but amateurish. No breads until after the starter bizarrely. £185 for 2 . It is still 1 star quality but we have better options in Birmingham

Incredible fusion of food and art. Thoroughly recommend the tasting menu… but above all the experience. A sublime Saturday lunchtime experience

Just had lunch at Purnells today, had the tasting menu, very disappointed with the content of the whole meal ,felt very rushed until the 4th course, dishes were average at best, presentation poor, staff were not of the standard I have come to expect at...similar 1 star Michelin establishments. Not once were we asked how were our courses until after we had finished by then too late, my partner found a bone in her sea bass dish, this can happen I admit but if you are paying £110 for a tasting menu and the portion size is somewhat smaller, then why is this being missed, we were given glasses of red wine and dessert wine free of charge as compensation, but really not good enough for the prices being asked, desserts were the best dishes of the day by far, but by then was too late, I for one will not be returning to the yummy brummie, anytime soon , every review is obviously subjective and this is only my opinion, but for the prices charged just not good enough ,very very disappointing lunch.More

Thank you so much Glynn and your team. We have been treated like royalty today and eaten like Kings. Amelia and Justin made our visit very special. Favourite dish cheese and pineapple.

hello, sorry for the delay in replying. Unfortunately I don't know the procedure for a groupon voucher at Purnells, we just booked it online for our meal.
