Beautiful setting and place. A special 70th birthday lunch with our friends. Food when it finally arrived was excellent but 2 hours was much too long to wait. Although waitress apologised we felt they didn’t seem concerned. The dining room wasn’t busy in fact it...was almost empty although there was a wedding going on in another room but I thought it was no excuse for the delay. It will be some time before we return to this particular Marco Pierre White restaurant.More

Well what can I say! Whole experience was not good! I would not come here again. Very disappointed! Came for a birthday meal with 11 of us. We had to que for ages for a pre-booked table. We pre-ordered food but that was still an...issue. We had to put our own table placements down they handed to us on paper to separate. Our salt pot had no salt in. A lot of us had ordered steak and had to ask for steak knives. We spoke to the Maître d' about it then felt ignored and the issues not addressed. I know these thing sound trivial but the price your paying you expect more! Your paying for food and experience and the experience is not one I want endure again! If I could give it a zero rating I wouldMore

Amazing service, visited not long ago on a first date and it was beautiful, the lamb’s shepherd pie is to die for. Cocktails being 2 for £14 is amazing as well. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Congratulations guys so happy, will definitely be coming back xx

Service and location excellent. Food no better than average pub. Part baked bread that could have come from Aldi and frozen chips. Expensive service and charity donation added without asking. Embarrassing to ask them to take it off when lovely waiter standing there. Nice atmosphere,...feels special but food not really. Would pay full prices. Doesn’t en outage you to go back really.More

We visited to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Food was great but the very poor service spoilt our experience. We waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken and had to call the waitress to take the order. Starter and main arrived promptly but...we were then left sitting for 45 minutes and again had to call the waitress. She gave no apology for the long wait. We had planned to have a dessert but due to the poor service and no apology from the waitress, we just wanted to leave. Very disappointing indeed.More

The Mediteranean fish soup starter consisted of a watery greasy sludge( which i guess came out of a jar} with a spoonfulof grated cheese ,a few small greasy croutons and a tastless rouille . The Malabar fish curry was just about Ok but fish portion...very small.. Sea Bass was OK but nothing to write home about & again skimpy on the actual fish. Deserts were average But the Saint Marceline Cheeseboard priced at £8.50 was a JOKE .. you could clear the plate on one fork.. I think if you bought the same volume at Wait rose you would get change from a £1.. even the presentation was poor. Finally the corridors leading to the Toilets smelt a bit like a charity shop & the loos were like a public convenience . We will not be going back . Obviously people being drawn in by a known name but given average food & overpriced for what it is..More

No hospitality at all treated like oh you got a cheap entry ticket. Someone had bought us a red letter day. When admin was finally sorted and a queue behind us had formed we were seated by a concrete pillar. Have 2 say sandwiches were...stale and boring. Cakes were sweet and sickly. The coffee was undrinkable. Did I enjoy it no not really, wife enjoyed the two glasses of Prosecco as I was driving. Next time we get a red letter day we will exchange for a parachute jump and have tea at Greggs on the way home. Marco should remove his name from this establishment or go in and bash some heads because the quality is no more than bought out items decanted and put on a plate.More

Second time visit this year and food was superb as usual. Excellent Prawn Cocktails, Fillet steak cooked exactly as requested and overall with the ambience of the place very good. A tip for anyone who likes the old favourite of a knickerbocker glory desert you...will not find it on the dining menu they give you. Order it off the Bar menu that is on your table. Only let down is the Front of House staff, very disinterested, slow and obviously on minimum wage!More
