A local pub of the old school with a fine selection of craft ales. Though surrounded by student flat development, this boozer seems to have maintained a certain Rovers Return, neighbourly bonhomie about it. Didn’t eat there and don’t remember relieving myself there, but I did enjoy a few jars soaking up the clientele’s garrulous hubbub and admiring the barman’s... More

My husband and I had a weekend away for our anniversary and we called into the Town wall tavern as it was recommended to us. It was very busy so knew we'd have to wait to be served which was fine. However after 15 minutes waiting at the bar, the bar man served everyone that walked in instead of us... More

I used to site this proper old fashioned pub in the heart of Coventry. At 30+ years I was saddened to visit my favourite pub in the world to find it smelly and uninviting. I thought of this pub as home for so long, but an enforced absence of a year, I return to find the small of stake cigarette,... More

Visited here after I had a meal over the road in café rouge, I thought would finish my night on a high as it was so good at the restaurant, and I wasn't disappointed, the real ale is spot on and the staff are great, as are the customers, I was made to feel so welcome, finished off what was... A lovely little traditional pub tooked away behind the Belgrade Theatre. Perfect for a pre-show meal and drink. I opted for the excellent bangers & mash and a lovely pint of Magnum IPA. Good pub grub. Why can't all city centre pubs be like this?!

This is a traditional pub. It serves decent real ales. The menu is a typical pub grub but is well priced and very well executed - simply and without frills

The reviews were correct. Amazing Sunday roast....just like your mum makes it. Lamb was deliciously tender. Selection of ales great too. Relaxed atmosphere. 5 stars.

Called in pub for a spot of lunch. Got to be one of the best meals ever. My sis had fish chips and mushy peas, my brother had chicken with leek and cheese sauce and fresh vegetables and I had chicken stuffed with garlic mushrooms and fresh vegetables All this and 3 soft drinks for £32.00. We cannot fault anything... More
