Went for an evening meal on a rare occasion that myself and may partner get a child free night. The pub itself is in beautiful surroundings and the beer garden is lovely. Very relaxed environment. The food whilst very tasty was in my opinion a little over priced. Puddings at nearly £7 each I would have expected something more special.... More

Had a lovely visit to Chequers today with my mum and our dog. Beautiful historic building with a cosy interior, wonderful atmosphere and welcoming staff. The food was delicious and piping hot, and chef even cooked a nice juicy steak on the house for our little furry friend. Lovely cosy way to spend a rainy afternoon in may. We live... More

Called in for a quick bite on a Sunday Lunchtime. We did book - the reason why we came here was that they were able to do just that We didn't want the set huge Sunday roast that so many pubs do these days - without offering something less formal. The staff were friendly, food good and service fine.

Having just moved to the area so for me finding a good local pub is always on the top of my list and this place totally fits the bill. Great beer garden to enjoy a well deserved drink in. Yes the drinks are a little pricey but hey when you can relax and enjoy the sun in the beautiful beer... More

Came for Sunday lunch, seated in the restaurant which was lovely as is the pub, the staff on the bar were friendly and organised which is good when you go to a place as busy as this, However once seated the disappointments started! We were seated and given the wrong menu: The waitress brought some bread and butter which was... More

Food here is always good. Sunday roasts delicious and they serve the beef pink which I like. The sandwiches are also always good and the chips are amazing!!! Best chips around. Staff always friendly and welcoming. Pub got lots of character and very cosy. Lovely outside area for summer

Revisited Chequers Inn after an absence of many years due to a poor bar meal. Busy Saturday night at the bar but was served quickly and efficiently. Restaurant upstairs surprisingly very quiet. Service by waitress was good but was slightly concerned if the lady could manage going up and down the stairs. The starter of chorizo and black pudding was... More

Really looked forward to the meal. Venue looked great when we arrived, nice garden, cozy bar. We were seated in the restaurant upstairs by a quite unfriendly young lady to be honest. She eventually asked for our orders with 'Do you know what you want then?'. Charming! Every time a waitress came into the room we had to shout to... More

Not been for awhile to the pub area(not the restaurant part) but food was not up to standard for price charged. Lamb very stringy and lots of fat on it. Husbands steak very average also. Glass of Sauvignon cost £9.50 and had to be sent back as was served warm! All served on a table that was so small for... More
