The cafe is located just 2-3 mins away from the Leeds Station and just 5 minutes away from Trinity Leeds. The staff are friendly and the cakes are just lovely. Had a vegan blueberry cheesecake (or something like that) and latte, both were great. Sat downstairs where there are interesting tattoo drawings/art pieces on the wall. Really nice ambiance to... Love the coffee, love the cake. This would always be one of my first choices for a coffee stop when in Leeds.

Vivacious and vibrant coffee venue that sells great cakes and savouries. Oh...and the coffee! Best cortado I've had anywhere. The place is invariably bustling, busy and urgent, which says it all really. There are coffee shops..then there's Laynes.

Great coffee (the oat milk is great), really lovely environment with helpful friendly staff. Amazing brunch, couldn't recommend it more, especially the Welsh rarebit. Really nice to see a local business thrive!

Nice food. Terrible attitude from the staff. Ladies seem to hate their job (is it because it's men at the till ladies cleaning up?) Coffee poor. Cappuccino way too milky and not creamy. As in many places they think it's a latte with a bit of foam on top. 4 for food. 2 for coffee. 0 for attitude. Hence the... More

Hi Bruno, thanks so much for taking the time put another valuable feedback led review on Tripadvisor, I'd like to just thank you from all of us in the food and drink service industry. I recall your visit, I served you. In fact, I recall our interaction quite clearly. You ordered a 'dry' cappuccino, nothing wrong with that of course,... More

Having sampled half a dozen cafes in Leeds this is by far the best, with genuine espresso, a barista who cares about what they're doing and a great vibe.

Popped in here on a day trip to Leeds. It is very close to the train station but not the easiest to find. I definitely went the long way around but it was worth it, the coffee was excellent! It isn't the biggest place but there were plenty of chairs and tables and j found a spot in the window.... More

Really top quality food and coffee. The poached eggs were the best I've ever had. This is a popular spot so you may need to wait for a table but it is well worth it.

I'm a coffee snob from Melbourne living in Leeds for work and couldn't live without Layne's coffee. The café has expanded recently so there's plenty of space in the double story café to relax, enjoy your coffee and even have a bite to eat. Currently only serving breakfast and brunch but they're looking to expand to an evening menu soon.

Just a short walk from the station, this small but very charming restaurant, very well respected for breakfast onwards deserves it’s Guardian accolades. Coffee strong and very delicious, the breakfast speciality which we enjoyed on two visits, is fabulous fresh poached eggs on crusty sourdough toast and roast tomatoes. The staff extremely helpful when we arrived with suitcases.
