Have just enjoyed another excellent visit to the Malet. Meet and eat there regularly with friends and we have never been disappointed. Food has always been excellent, choice is good, puds are fantastic too. Good atmosphere and obliging staff. Definitely one of my favourites!

This is a quiet pub in a sleepy, small village. The food and service were good. We enjoyed the food and drink in the lovely sunshine of the weekend. We both had Haunch of Venison roast dinners. The roast was huge and neither of us could finish it.

Passing through the area I was lucky to find this gem! A smashing ambience with lovely staff and excellent service. The choice of real ale covered all tastes and there was no complaints about the food!

We went out for Sunday lunch which we booked. It was very busy but there was only one choice of roast on which was pork and neither of us like pork. Shame as it looked lovely. We enjoyed our meal though we were served quite quickly given the fact that they were really busy but others were waiting quite a... More

Two plus dog went for an early lunch. We were welcomed warmly - as we knew we would be, having been there before though not recently - and had a delicious lunch.

I am in two minds about The Malet. I have been there on a number of occasions because the food is quite simply delicious, however, the clientele is often unpalatable. Perhaps, by virtue of it's location, this beautiful old pub is frequented by pompous snobs. It's quite frankly upsetting to hear such archaic views coming from younger members of society... More

I was recommended to try the Malet by staff at the Holiday Inn. Although not far it is a bit hard to find, but well worth the effort. I ate one if the best belly pork I have ever tried, crispy, tasty and not too fatty, with delicious mash. Followed by a interesting take on bread and butter pudding, served... More

I was recommended the Malet Arms by a friend but I was left feeling a tad let down. The food standards agency only give it 3 out of 5 for for hygiene etc which is 'generally satisfactory' ... generally?!!! I want always!!!! Anyway, that aside we arrived having booked a table in advance but had to wait 15 min to... More

This was the first time we'd been to the Market Arms for years and were worried it might not be as good as we remembered but it was. Great lunch (but no choice on the roast which was a bit unusual). Children happy with burgers . We were happy with roasts. Great old fashioned pub puddings. I recommend the treacle... More

The fire was cracking on a cold Thursday lunchtime & the lights in the bar were twinkling when we arrived, the pub was warm, welcoming & cosy. I ordered the Cajun chicken and asked for salad rather than chips, and when it arrived the plate looked colourful & tempting & was delicious. Coffee afterwards and two hours later I reluctantly...
