On the recommendation of our hosts, we walked across the road and had a great meal at this lovely quintessential pub. So good, we came back for another meal. Good ales and great service. Could not ask for more

Lunch with friends on a weekend afternoon. Lovely pub in a lovely setting and staff were ok. However, food is well below par. I ordered the chicken burger which was dreadful; I could have made better myself and I’m a terrible cook. Chips were burnt...More

We popped in at 4pm for Sunday lunch. We were disappointed with the roast meal. The potatoes were overcooked, kept under the heat too l long, the vegetable were under cooked. The staff were friendly, but given the price it was not value for money....More

Late Sunday lunch was absolutely dreadful. Dry overcooked meats, mountainous volumes of irrelevant and unwanted vegetables (red cabbage, leeks and beans) Yorkshire puddings with the texture of hardboard. Disinterested all male (!?) staff - probably needs a female touch. Once one of the best pubs...More
