We dropped in for lunch on the way to Somerset to find a warm and friendly welcome. We had a glass of wine and looked at the varied menu, attention was drawn to the over sixty menu that was a £5 fixed price of some of the dishes on the main menu. The meal turned up hot an tasty and very... More

We stayed here with my parents and some of their friends as they had been here a couple of times before (age range of 27 to 60+). Relaxed camping with electric and waste disposal. No showers or loos (except the pub toilets when it is open). However if you have these facilities in your camper you are fine :-) They... More

I've been here twice now and the service and quality of the food has been brilliant. Whiteparish might be a bit out of your way, but it's well worth stopping for great food in the Lantern..

Came here for dinner with family after visiting the area on holiday. Was a beautiful Sunny evening on a biker night! Lots of great bikes arrived as we were sitting but made a great atmosphere. Menu is standard food but our large order came out quick and very well cooked. Really yummy food. Staff very friendly. Sad to be leaving... More

We were staying on the nearby campsite and visited the pub most days. Very friendly couple running the pub, with a good choice of real ales from local and national breweries - nicely kept and very different in styles. We also ate there - a pretty standard menu for pub food but of excellent quality, very tasty and well cooked... More

Simple food done well at very reasonable prices. No attempts at being a gastro-pub. The mixed grill is huge and good value. Good range of well kept ales. Friendly staff. There is nothing particularly remarkable about the pub its self, comfortable roomy seating for dining. Kitchen closes at 9 p.m. Got busy after 9 p.m. We were able to get... More

We have just holidayed in Whiteparish and visited the pub most days. The landlord and landlady were really friendly and we felt like regulars from day one. The food was absolutely amazing and incredible value for money. I would happily drive 80 miles back to Whiteparish just to visit this pub again.

We visited the Parish Lantern twice recently, once for a pint in the afternoon and once for an early supper. The pub is warm and inviting and is the type of place you want to settle in and have another. There is a warm fire near the bar and a good local trade. The food was reasonably good, about what... Yes Whiteparish is the home of Lady Cheddar's mum. We are spending a few days on a hide away site behind the Parish Lantern. It is an amazing location if you are touring and are self contained. Very nice people who leave you alone to enjoy the tranquility. Great food
