We enjoyed this intimate restaurant near Windsor Castle. The service was excellent and the food was good. I would recommend it if you are in town touring the Castle.

Lovely little historic place. My husband and I chose to have pies. They came and we were so disappointed, talk about portion control taken to the extreme. Of course everywhere these days are cutting back but it was ridiculous! Literally 1 tablespoon of mushy peas...More

Visited here for tea and cake after a visit to the castle. Had a great cuppa, lovely scones (piping hot!) and apple pie. All lovely but there are 2 things that make this place special. One is the building and it’s fascinating history - very...More

Description
Drury House is one of Windsor’s oldest eateries, It was built in the reign of King Charles I, in 1645 to house the staff from Windsor Castle. Later on it became part of the abode of Nell Gwyn, Charles II’s favourite Mistress; to accommodate their secret liaisons, a tunnel was built between the Drury House and the Castle, enabling Nell Gwyn to have a secret rendezvous with the King at a moment’s notice. The tunnel is still in existence to this day, though for security reasons have been partially blocked off. Drury House is a unique restaurant and tea room, steeped in history, right in the heart of Windsor, serving traditional English food such as FISH & CHIPS and PIES with local Ales and Beers. Visitors to Drury House will be fascinated to find a wealth of original 17th century features, including mouldings, fireplace and wood panelling offering a unique atmosphere.
