Celebrated my birthday here with a delightful afternoon tea. Incredibly good value for money and by far one of the best afternoon teas I have ever eaten. Slightly slow at refilling the teapots but as soon as we asked they would oblige.

We took the family for Sunday lunch. The food, atmosphere and service was very good. The portions were very plentiful and the quality of food was very good. The service were very polite and accommodating, as we had our two young grandchildren with us and nothing was too much trouble. A great lunchtime.

Party of 5 after a day at the rugby (men), shopping (ladies). had some drinks first seated near the river window. Well serviced with barman suggesting a number of cocktails we might try. Regularly asked during this period if we were ok and need ed anything further. Were shown to our table, downstairs, when ready, very comfortable, busy and good... More

Even though we had forgotten about the Victorian fair and the place was full , the service was good and the food was great . Roast beef was the favourite. Seafood linguine needed more seafood but that was the only black Mark

We booked out works do at browns this year and we're not disappointed. From start to finish we were well fed, watered and entertained.... the food was both well presented and tasty. A magician did the rounds throughout the evening entertaining guests and we had polite prompt service.... could not fault atall - would happily recommend!!

On arrival we were seated upstairs which was very busy. Out table was at the side and very brightly lit. We asked if the light could be dimmed but were told it wasn't possible by the waitress so I asked to be moved to another table. She said it was already taken. It was so bright I spoke to the... I hadn't been to this restaurant in ages, other than calling in for a drink. We met friends for Sunday lunch which is the full regular menu plus various special roast and other options. Service was a bit hit and miss but I wouldn't knock it as all of the staff were friendly and nice - just a bit disorganised.... More

Enjoyed a champagne Xmas meal with my family yesterday evening. The food was beautifully cooked and the service was excellent. Staff were smiling and extremely helpful. We all agreed it was the best meal we have ever eaten in a restaurant which we have been doing for many years and in many countries.

Visited today for lunch, my wife is Gluten Free and we were told that they could accommodate us but when we arrived it was very difficult to find anything on menu, we had to point out that they had Beer Battered Cod and Burger with Brioche bun as gluten free, after checking with chef they said it was a printing... Reviews have always appeared a little mixed for Brown's so we were a little unsure about what to expect. We deliberately went on a Wednesday night to try the fish platter (for 2 to share) which includes a bottle of wine. First impressions were good, we had a nice table and prompt service, the surroundings are very pleasant. Our meal... More
