The visit started well with a welcoming email reminder which was reassuring that l had got the right date. Welcomed on arrival and invited to sit, enjoy a tasty morsel of salt cod and aoli with a soda flavoured by rhubarb and rosewater. A little sweet for me but l would have again. l want to encourage restaurants to offer... More

It was a wedding anniversary celebration and a first ever visit to the walnut tree which we were really looking forward to. Maybe we had to o high expectations and expected it to be select and relaxing but came away quite disappointed. Although the food was nicely presented and tasty we had an appetiser, bread, first course and main course... More

Friday 17th March 2017-Dinner for 4. This is such a comfortable, casual, laid back place - plain wooden tables and chairs (but with seat cushions), reasonably spaced out. Friendly and professional service. The star is the food, which is truly excellent. Good choice - 11 starters; 9 mains; 9 pudds - we had a selection amongst us and not a... More

Wonderful, faultless cooking. The best lamb I've ever eaten and excellent, understated, unstuffy service. Brilliant.

I've probably visited around 30 Michelin starred eateries in the U.K. and France and, sad to say, this doesn't even reach the bottom rung. For a start, the service was dismissive and inattentive. Ever been to a 'starred' restaurant and had to pour your own wine or ask for cutlery? Twice? Me neither. Whilst the amuse bouche was tasty enough,... More

Well where do I begin....scrumptious, succulent, sumptuous with tantalising tastes. It's not the cheapest food around, but what one receives on a plate is exquisite and cooked to perfection. The staff, Jo, Marta & Megan were very attentive and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to this delightful Inn and look forward to trying a few more of Shaun... More

We booked for Saturday lunch and this was our first visit to the restaurant. My wife and I arrived to a warm greeting by the young lady behind the bar and we were directed to a table and my wife had a French 75 cocktail, as she liked sweeter drinks the recipe was adjusted accordingly and she loved it. We... More

Mother's birthday lunch. Service excellent. Food Excellent. All good. Could not fault it. Reckon it was value for money. The amuse bouche were lovely. They were closing that week-end to refurbish. It looked fine to us but they do keep it up together. Parked at the back. Steep walk through the garden to the restaurant. Easy to miss the turning... More

We arrived a little early for a drink and we greeted and seated very quickly. It was very busy and the atmosphere was buzzing. We were treated to an amuse-bouche which catered for gluten free, without asking. The food was delicious, very well presented, but not pretentious, and decent sized portions. The wine list was also impressive. To cap the... More
