This attractive pub suffers from being a couple of miles out of Betws-y-coed and easy to miss. It does not appear to be open daily but serves generous portions of typical pub food. the car park at the rear is not easy to access

We visited as a group of 13 on a Saturday evening in May. We were welcomed by Jan who was running the bar and restaurant alone, obviously apart from the kitchen staff. She provided great service throughout, always checking that everyone had a drink and...More

A quirky place to eat but with great food. The beef and ale pie was definitely best pie we had ever tasted.

Open the textbook. Look up "pub grub". Have a look at the entry and if it doesn't cite 'The Silver Fountain' as the paragon example, well, get a new textbook. Obscenely gargantuan pies, their size only over-showed by their deliciousness, were accompanied by almighty chips...More

Tried this place twice whilst on a weekend break, both times the food was good, good sized portions. Went for Sunday lunch and the roast was brilliant and the lady working, who I believe was called Jan, was excellent, friendly and welcoming. Would recommend to...More

So I was back to England after my visit to north wales and pretty hungry. We stopped by after we saw an appealing board for "good food". A very typical Welsh decor, the food was a delight! The only downside was that it took a...More

Visited The Silver Fountain on Easter Sunday after calling to check if they had any tables. On arrival we were greeted by a very flustered Jan who was run ragged, yet still had time to laugh and smile and keep her customers chatting. The pub...More
