The steak and ale home made pie is fantastic. Puff pastry is just that. You will be amazed. Local larger and cider is definitely worth a try. Great atmosphere and spot on friendly service.

A very nice chilled out country pub serving very good pub food and good size portions. Plenty of room between tables, nice log fire, big tv on mute unless needed (rugby match) and a good local trade making a nice atmosphere.

I am local and tried to love it time and time again. I've had a ridiculously long time to wait for food in the padt. Eg.. Over an hour then when we got it... It's soggy tasteless and boring. We just brought our friends in there for drinking on new years eve, been drinking at home and in another pub... More

Stayed in bunkhouse recently, facilities adequate but rooms were very cold & no drying facilities for kit other than a “broom” cupboard so not recommended for outdoors groups

We popped in here on our way home from climbing Pen-Y-Fan and the Chicken Casserole on the specials board sounded perfect. It smelled gorgeous when it arrived and tasted the same. Yum! Good pub food and does what it says on the tin. Luckily we sat by the open log fire so my cheeks (on my face) were very rosy... More

We visited the White Hart Inn on both our trip up and down the canal. Backing onto the canal means this pub and its neighbour The Star Inn are within easy reach of the mooring point. We enjoyed excellent meals and beer on both occasions. Serving meals every day means this is a busy pub. Staff were efficient and obliging... More

Found this little gem while on the Brecon and Monmouth canal . The staff were very welcoming and helpful . Have had lunch and and evening meal on 2 occasions and can't fault the food or service . Very varied menu and specials board and a great selection of ales , bar and spirits . Really worth the visit

A busy Sunday meant the roast dinners had all gone quite early, but the brie leek and potato crumble was delicious and very filling. Others in the group had gammon (again, great portion) veggie sausages (didn't look very appetising) and fish (frozen, not fresh)

We were travelling by narrowboat up the canal and our first night we stopped at Talybont and decided on the White Hart for dinner and a drink or two. Nice pub, friendly staff, good food, and nice ales. Recommend to travellers - we also had lunch there on our way back and it was just as good.

On a day trip down memory lane and found this place on the way. Good selection of food at good prices in a lovely setting. We went for a light lunch as knew we were eating a good meal later. I had jacket potatoe and my husband opted for a baguette, we were surprised at the size of the portion... More
