I had dinner in this restaurant with my husband last night and we thoroughly enjoy it. As a French person living in the UK, I miss French cuisine a lot and the attention to detail (bread basket, amuse bouches, nice wine list...). The waitress was very good and the menu had plenty of choice. We had a 3 course dinner... More

Had a very good lunch at the Pantygwydyr the other day. The quality of the food was very high and was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the French style of the restaurant and the atmosphere which was enhanced by the classic singing of Mirielle Mathieu and others. The food did take a little time to arrive but not to the... I've been meaning to try this restaurant for many years and really wish now that I had done much sooner. The scallop starter was superb with aranchini and a beautiful sauce. I had the veal escalope with peppercorn sauce and my wife had the duck breast with cranberry sauce. The flavours of both meals was stunning. I haven't had as... More

Passing by on the way to the Bryn-y-Mor we popped in on spec. Initially disappointed to find they did not do a lunch option as we weren’t intending to splash out but soon got sucked in by the excellent menu choices. We have previously eaten here in an evening so we knew the standard of cooking was very high. The... More

A converted pub situated in a backstreet in a residential area of Swansea, Pant y Gwydr specialises in a short menu of traditional French dishes: snails, bavette, veal, hake etc. On a unusually quite midweek evening there were few only a diners but the atmosphere was still warm and welcoming. A splendid amuse gueule of warm crepe encased chive cream... More

Delicious well presented food. Had sample snail, and scallops starter, all good. Had hake, and a lamb for mains, all delicious. Trio dessert was yummy. Good service, nice place, could be more cosy and welcoming, a bit sparse and cold. Going again soon.

I've been coming here with my sister and friends for several years now. The service is always excellent and the food is always delicious. This visit was no exception. One of my fave places to eat, can't wait to go back!

Three great courses and good choice of wine. We also had a sample of snails and frogs legs. Lovely venue, lovely atmosphere and great service.

My husband and I visited here on Friday night for my birthday. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were all welcoming. We were seated immediately and given menus. The menus were full of information - where the recipes come from, where the food is sources, recommendations on how to have the dish cooked - even what type of oven... More

My parents, daughter and I went to the Pant-Y-Gwydr for Christmas 2016 lunch. We had paid and ordered our food in early December. The food was plentiful and lovely. My daughter had a very impressive Vacherin and the Yule log was excellent. The restaurant had a lovely tree. The atmosphere would have been enhanced by some tasteful individual Christmas decoration... More
