Still waiting for my food, ordered over an hour and a half ago. Complete disgrace! Staff not very helpful on the phone either.

I've been visiting the Sphinx for over 25 years now and it's still my first port of call whenever I come home to Belfast. Good quality meat and chips and the best kebab sauce in the UK. My favourite takeaway. My parents love it too.

The food that I've had has been pretty good, a schwarma type kebab is the only type available rather than donner. Which is a nice change. However, there is 1 particular dark haired girl who has the most negative, cold, rude, sour faced attitude that has made me not go back. Her manner with customers is awful; I suspect she... More

**Used to REALLY love the kebabs. Chips were always a bit underdone & very mediocre. Tonight chips were soggy & so tightly wrapped they came out in one big mushy lump. To add insult to injury the kebabs were so SALTY (and cold despite only a 3 minute journey home) that we couldn't eat them. SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED... More

I'm guessing the people who rated this place terrible must be the owners of the other kebab shops and their friends. It's no.1 in Northern Ireland. Beef gyro folks. Game changer!

I always use Sphinx when i fancy a kebab. The kebabs are the best in Belfast by a country mile and the house sauce is amazing.

I ordered a large kebab on chips at just under £7. I usually get a little salad and chilli sauce on my kebabs but was very disappointed to receive my kebab with the house sauce already on it and not even a bit of salad. No one behind the counter even bothered to ask what I wanted on the order... More

There's no doubt quality suffered when the premises changed hands some years ago and the quality of the kebabs was very much less than they used to be. Thankfully since the arrival of the new member of staff who used to work in the Sphinx before the takeover, things are very much back to their terrific best. This place has... More

Have eaten from here for a long time. Have been again recently. Kebab was as good as ever. Large kebab was good size. Staff were same as ever. Still can't comprehend all the 1 star reviews - this remains a firm favourite, and is always packed for a reason. Sphinx is a local institution and these guys need to take... More

This place was so worth it! Very affordable at just under 5 euro for a filling meal. (They also had some good daily deals at different times of day). I had their traditional kebab over some chips and was blown away. So simple: a bed of chips (fries) with some beef on top with some "sphinx sauce" (a super good... More
