Our first afternoon in Belfast and treated our selfs to champagne afternoon tea. From the moment we got there loved everything about the place from the grand surroundings; the ambiance;to the staff that served us. Loved it. If you want a special treat this is it thoroughly recommend a visit.

From the secondwe were shown to our table intheGreatRoom, everything was perfect. Waiters gave us space to settle before asking redrinks, and space again to let us absorb the menu. Drinks arrive, and with just right amount of time the fantastic food followed, served to peretion. Waiters keptanever watchful eye without being obtrusive. An entire evening to remember.

Have been to the afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast at the merchent dont book afternoon tea if staying at the hotel as you will not have space for it after the breakfast, good vegi choices let then know ahead, great opulence worth staying at the hotel as well as eating there.

We booked into the Merchant for dinner and arrived for pre dinner drinks in the bar area. A great Gin Martini was the order of the day, fantastic taste, beautifully presented... More

We were able to book Afternoon Tea in The Great Room last minute, and we'd forgotten what a delight is it. The style has changed over the years, and now there's never been so much variety on the stand and additionally, staff come round offering handcrafted chocolates and macaroons. A glass of Pink Champagne made it even more special, and... More

Well what an experience The food was divine and the staff were excellent. A group of us went there last weekend and it was super. BUT believe me it is for very special occasions not the usual birthday or outing unless you are rich. The prices are a bit OTT and then a 10% service charge on top which I... More

We dined here and had a wonderful meal. We chose the taster menu paired with wine pairing . Each course was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The service was 'spot on' and each course was served on our request. Our waitresses were attentive without being intrusive. The room is magnificent , a great place to dine. I can not fault... More
