Popped here for lunch with my parents and my two little ones - everybody had a great lunch. Kids burger and sandwich went down well and my parents chicken curry was excellent. Will definitely be back - an unexpected gem

Great dinner after a family day out. It's good traditional food at a reasonable cost. The service is excellent, very attentive.

Went with a couple of friends yesterday, There was no atmosphere at all, old tables and chairs and cheap knives and forks. Sat for 10 minutes before getting menus, then for a further 20 minutes before an order was taken. Unfortunately the cod had sold out, but the waitress continued to tell us how good it was and how we... More

I thought I would try it again - as my favourite place was doing a bistro ngt. Lets just say, it reaffirms what I thought. I will not be back. Sorry.

What a we gem! Head up stairs for a wonderful view of the sea. Spacious and good food! Very reasonable. We had a good lunch and tea for £15. For two people that was great! Nice place to relax watching the waves. A pleasant surprise!

Located on the opposite side of the promenade to the sea, the views from the upper flow are beautiful. Food well presented by pleasant, friendly staff. Would highly recommend "all day breakfast". For the reasonable charge of 4.95 you get a huge plate of good old "Ulster Fry". Plenty of other choices too but this one particularly appealed. Lots of... More

This restaurant has three dining areas. Two were closed on the day I had lunch with my adult son.Very noisy with kids running about and people on phones. Lunch was okay with good portion sizes. But average dining at best. it is a much better place when all areas are open.

I felt the need to write a review as I just couldn't believe the dirt of this place. As a child we would of frequently visited Newcastle and eaten at The Strand however, over the last 10 years Newcastle has aquired some lovely cafes and restaurants. As we decided on a light lunch we tried a few cafes in the... More

Have been coming here for more years than I care to remember. It doesn't change much and doesn't need to . For us it is one of the landmark places in Newcastle which we visit frequently. Coffee, lunch, ice cream they do it all and very well at a reasonable price.
