Visited the Ashvale on Easter Sunday while in Aberdeen. I hadn't been to Aberdeen for about 20 years and dreamt of a fish supper for weeks beforehand! We were surprised to see the carpark only half full and only a couple of people in the queue at the takeaway. We went for the meal deal at 9.95. This gives you... More

I Searched on line for a Fish & Chips Restaurant, and discovered The Ashvale on the Great Western Road. Although busy we were quickly given a table. There was a good varied selection on the menu. I went for Skate, and my wife ordered Chicken. The meals were fairly quickly delivered. We both had large portions which were well presented... More

Have been coming to this restaurant for years. Service is reliably speedy and friendly. Fish and chips are good and fish always tastes very fresh. They're not the absolute best you'll ever get but they're definitely above average.

we've visited several times and always have a good meal. The fish and chips are classic, but there are several other options- I enjoyed some haggis! brave souls attempt the Ashvale Whale....a knickerbocker glory is also fun!

Friendly staff, seems to have a lot of local customers who know the waitresses. Fish and chips were good, served quickly and hot. Feels like a well deserved good reputation and worth a visit. For those of us who don't eat a lot of fish and chips..."A nod's as guid as a wink tae a blind horse"

Ate fish and chips at the Ashvale and it was good (even though I must say that fish and chips tastes basically the same no matter where you eat it). The restaurant was nice, and the old man who served me was really nice too.

Bought fish and chips the other night. There were lots of people waiting for orders but a good thing as everything was made to order. The fish was great but the chips could have been a bit crunchier. STaff were very helpful. It's easy to see why The Ashvale has the best supper in Aberdeen.

Takeout is what it is, takeout of the best fish and chips in Aberdeen. Restaurant is a quintessential chipper restaurant, you are paying for the food, not the quality of he decor etc. Parking out front with overflow next door after 5.30. Good selection of specials, all served with tea and bread / butter - nothing to sniff at here.... More

Not sure why this place is famous, maybe it was once. Very basic inside, scampi starter which was ok, jumbo haddock overcooked, batter very average, not well filleted.. bones.. lady who served me was very friendly. £12+ for haddock and chips....

OK so its not flash but the menu is quite big with the usual fishy suspects with a few surprises too. We visited the restaurant around 530pm on a Friday and it was quite busy. We enjoyed battered chicken fillets with baked potato and beans, the chicken was moist and the batter crispy and delicious. My friend opted for smoked... More
