We have been buying the frozen gateaus for many years, the selection is fantastic as is the quality. Our kids have grown up on these cakes and now expect on any family occasion..."where's the strawberry cake?" If you don't believe me, try it.

Went in for lunch with my mum waited patiently to be served (about 10 minutes) 3 to 4 waitresses supposedly working but when another couple came in for lunch and were served within a couple of minutes of arriving we got up and left. Will not be back.

the first thing we noticed were the old-style straw boaters worn by the assistants and the last thing was that the lady who had been serving us didn't turn away until after we had left the shop. the service was courtesy without shmarm and the soup was warm and hearty. it was a pleasure to visit and we would go... Popped in here intending on just buying a couple of cakes, not realising there was a little cafe/tea room. Decided to sit down for some lunch. Soup and sandwich deal £5 - excellent! Big bowl of homemade soup and freshly made sandwich. Pot of tea which did me three cups! Oh and a coffee tower to finish - a must!... More

Fisher & Donaldson have such a big name that really doesn't live up to the hype. Previously we had tasted the carrot cake(it was a house guest who gifted it to us) and we were not impressed. The cake looked good but we found it to be all style and no substance. This time we bought some rolls(floury muffin) and... More

I only popped in for a coffee and to kill some time. I left after some kind of toasted local concoction that looked very delicious and fully lived up to expectations. The exotic confectionary on show looked fantastic and I would have taken some home had I got room in my bag. The coffee was very good, the service from... More

Fisher and Donaldson are great bakers - this cafe reflects that.....its not the best set up and atmosphere but the food is decent and the staff are brilliant. The soup was fresh and tasty....

After being at Ninewells on a family matter, we were near the Perth Road shops and decided to park up and find a spot for a "wee cuppie". Two ladies to accompany me, we plumped for F&D in the shopping area, halfway down the way to Dundee, and duly ordered warm pies, strawberry tarts and coconut cookies to make up... More

We were recommended as we were in Dundee and had to try Dundee Cake. My wife and I had their "house" tea and a piece of cake. All very good in a wonderful atmosphere.

I had not been in the centre of Dundee for years, but was very pleased to see that this shop still existed. The selection of cakes and sweet treats is amazing, but the coffee tower is legendary. A pyramid of choux pastry filled with delicious coffee cream and iced with coffee icing, then some more cream and a chocolate button... More

Fisher and Donaldson are Bakeries are very well-known in Scotland for their excellent pastries and cakes. They have a small restaurant in Whitehall Street, where you can order your favourite drink and pastry or cake and read the newspaper. If you have a sweet tooth or love creamy cakes this is the perfect restaurant for you. My favourite is a large hot chocolate and a yummy coffee cream tower.

I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting Dundee.
